The mermaid looked through the glass of her tank with an unmistakeable melancholy. The glass tank in which her captors had placed her was small and cramped, and she didn't know how long she could take not being in the more open water. Not to mention that the glass of the tank was distorted for her side; everyone in the auction room was blurred and hard to see, their faces so cartoonish she could hardly tell if they were real or an illusion. Though if they moved closer to the tank, they would become clear and their expressions . . . their expressions were not those the mermaid took pleasure in seeing. Not a single kind eye gazed into her cramped world.

As the auctioneer rambled on and on with prices, Luna reached her hands up to the glass, hair spread out behind her almost like a blue halo and not covering her chest at all. If only she could find a way to get free...
