She'd heard the moans and groans and soft grunts as well, but ignored them. The goings on behind closed doors didn't bother her when there were things like ice cream, lollipops and cakes to distract her from the thumps of headboards against bedroom walls, and the muffled screams of overly satisfied (or gratuitously acting) women. Nah, it didn't matter when she had sweets, and in this case, that sweet was a cookie; rich and moist, with huge chocolate chips in every bite. Small chocolate streaks smeared across her rough gloves, and crumbs dusted her face every few, happily taken bites.

The albino girl had even taken to humming a soft little tune, feet shuffling across the heavily carpeted floor and big red eyes driftin closed as she got momentarily lost in her own music.

Shiro had just bitten into the large cookie again when she heard it; the familiar sound of a door opening on squeaky hinges. It was a somewhat distant sound, however, perhaps around the corner, and nothing much for her to worry about yet. It was probably just someone going to get their own cookie like Shiro's cookie, she reasoned happily, and began to chew her bite when she heard the second bit. The moans, sure, and then a voice - a voice that was more familiar than most things and so exciting to hear in this place.

"Ganta...~!" Shiro breathed under her breath before quickly rounding the corner and all but launching herself at the boy. She didn't spare a look at his face until she was halfway through the air, mouth open, cookie in hand and mouth open, happily chanting:

"Ganta Ganta Ganta Ganta! Gaaaaaaaantaaaaa!"

In a place full of strangers, he finally found one of the people he had hoped who would be there. The one whom he was the closest to back in Deadman Wonderland. His beloved friend and she was as enthusiastic as ever. "Shiro!" He said as he opened his arms and wrapped them around her. Thank goodness they were there together instead of himself being alone in that rather odd place. Being together meant they could look out for each other. Or more so Ganta could look out for her.

There was a bright smile upon his face as he hugged her. All of those sinking feelings of being in an unfamiliar place soon began to leave him. It was great to have a friend there with him. Especially since it was Shiro herself. "Do you know what this place is?" He asked of her and glanced up at a painting on the wall. This definitely was not an appropriate establishment for either of them to be. Yet it felt much safer than the prison of which they were forced to both reside in.

gee~! i've never played with a ganta before - this is exciting!

Being together meant she could look after him, in her mind. Which was much more important than him looking after her; civilians didn't look after Aceman! Aceman looked after civilians who got picked on or hurt, and Ganta was her favorite civilian.

Shiro's arms looped around his shoulders, squeezing him and pressing her cheek to his momentarily before recoiling and shaking her head 'no' to his question. "No, no. It's different here, ne~?" And she smiled, looking around and pointing at the same picture he had been peering at. "See, different!"

But it was okay because -

"Shiro found Ganta~" she sang, the hand with the cookie coming out from behind his head, treat laid on her gloved palm.

"D-Different is a light way of putting things." He said with a shrug of his shoulders. There were so many questions left unanswered, but by the sound of things this was a much better place than where they were at before.

"Thank you." He said to her and took the cookie. He took a bite from it and smiled. It was good. A lot better than the food they had back at Wonderland.

"So we'll stick together you and I, yeah? We'll make sure that we stick together." That way I can keep you out of trouble and make sure you stay safe. "No matter what. I don't want you getting hurt or anything, okay?"

ah it's okay! and yeah~! i agree; they're uber cute!

Shiro held both her gloved hands in front of her chest, smiling happily and giving him one, bubbly nod of agreement. Of course, she's going to be busier looking after him than being a damsel in distress, because the image of him as a child, crying on the grass has really always stuck with her; he gets hurt more than she nowadays anyway.

"Eh, eh!" The albino girl coos, enthusiastically.

Honestly, she sort of regrets giving him the cookie - she loves sweets. But Ganta seemed a little scared, and as much as she liked to eat treats with friends - meaning Ganta. - she also liked to cheer him up and see him smile. Happily, the girl rolls on the balls of her feet.

"Ganta and Shiro can be together!"
