This was one of those moments when Alph thoroughly could not believe what he was going to do. Sure, he'd done some pretty insane things in his time, but this took the cake.
So he'd stumbled on to a prophesy about the end of the world, using a certain powerful demon as a sacrifice to open a gateway and let monsters flood the world. All well and good, except he'd found the documents in a cult headquarters and the prophesy actually checked out. If the overlord - of perhaps overlady in this case - got captured by the cult, the world was pretty screwed.
The good news was Alph was one step ahead of them and had identified the demon in question, living in plain sight by simply being eccentric enough most people thought her oddities were worn accessories. The bad part was he didn't have any time to befriend her, try to convince her a plot so cliche was a genuine threat to her wellbeing, or even get authorization for what he was about to do.
So here he was, in an alleyway with some ropes and gags, watching the almost-cartoony rope trap he'd set up, hoping like he'll he'd make it to his safehouse once she stepped into it.
