For the past 10 minutes, Hisca Aiheap had been standing idly outside the doors of her master's chambers; a troubled sort of expression reflected on her face. She had been a knight turned bodyguard, specifically assigned to watch over and protect the life of the man whom she knew was waiting on the other side for her arrival. Like everyone who resided and worked in this household, his word was absolute. Whatever he wanted, whatever he needed, there would always be someone to go and fetch it for him; regardless if his request was relatively reasonable, or over-the-top outrageous.
So what did this have to do with Hisca? Despite being one of very few select bodyguards currently in her master's charge, they were not wholly exempt from acting as his personal servants from time to time. Who he chose to pick on and to what degree depended on his mood and to Hisca's dismay, she had been her master's favorite target for the past few weeks or so.
Tugging down the skirt of her newly assigned maid uniform that seemed to insist on riding up on her, she finally gathered up all her courage and knocked firmly on the door. Hearing no reply, she pushed the heavy wooden door open slowly. Cautiously she looked around the somewhat dimly lit room before entering and closing the door behind her.
"You called for me, master?"
