This hall seems no different than any other; hot, plush, and obscenely red. A few doors down, however, is a door that is wholly different from the others. Cool rock sits in the frame, ivy twisting over the heavy stone. The door is cracked, with a warm, spicy-sweet air drifting through the doorway and into the hall, beckoning travelers to come ( Read more... )

Lina carefully pushed open the door and peered inside. It looked like some sort of ruins. She had never seen anything like it in this place. It intrigued her and sparked her interest. Ruins usually met treasure and she was always on the look out for more treasure.

She wasn't afraid as she ventured deeper into the ruins. She had her magic and a sword. Sure, she relied more on her magic, but she could still use the sword quite well. She paused for a moment as she stood in one rather dark area of the ruin.

"Flame of light that burns so bright, into my hand gather your light," she said quietly as she held out her hands. A moment later, a small ball of light appeared and floated upward a few feet. Now that she had that, she could explore some more.

Something moves in the shadows, the hissing of scales on stone echoing in the halls of the ruin. There's a guardian lurking in the dark, Lina Inverse, and it's watching you as you trespass in its home.

She was used to guardians. She had taken care of many of them herself. She was stronger than she looked and could prove it easily. Well, maybe not physically stronger, but her magic was the strongest around.

She stopped, looking around when she heard something in the shadows.

The length of his body makes it possible to circle around her, leaving the very end of his tail in the shadows on the other side of the magician. He shakes it in the dead leaves to keep her distracted, drawing her attention away from his main body.

Gloomy, strange places do not frighten the boy anymore. The boy wouldn't be a very accurate term either; he is a demon now, newborn but all powerful. The Hitoshura.

He feels the King moving in his snake-like patterns in the darkness and he stands there, without moving, watching in silence. He has never been a talkative guy, much less now, but if he was, he would say Come, show yourself. He doesn't need to, though, because the red flicker of his eyes say everything that needs to be said.

So the Hitoshura waits for Raja Naga in the dark, not uttering a word, not making a sound.

The snake king is immediately overwhelmed by the powerful presence, and he's at once hesitant to show himself. Then again, to remain hidden would be a cowardly move, and if Raja Naga was anything, he was not a coward.

Showing no fear as he approaches, the Naga king towers over Hitoshura, glaring down at the more powerful demon.

"Yer trespassin'." He grumbles, narrowing his yellow eyes.

His silent only adds to his eerieness, but the boy keeps his lips sealed, letting his eyes do the talking, so to speak. He looks at the Raja Naga, head to toe. Well, to tail. He is, truly, a fine demon, a powerful one too. But nowhere near his own power.

He takes a step forward, unhesitating, challenging the King in his deep silence. Trespassing, him? This was not his territory, but neither was the Naga's and the Hitoshura will do as he wants to. It's not the snake warrior who will tell him otherwise.

Though he's well aware of the difference in power, Raja Naga stands his ground, tapping the end of his spear on the stone floor.

"You hear me? Yer trespassin'. Get out before I make ya." Of course, it was a bluff, after all. The Hitoshura was far more powerful than himself, but he had his pride, and he wasn't about to back down.

Cyuss didn't worry about the door at all. Normally, he would've been suspicious of something that stood out so much, but he opened the door and boldly walked through it, whistling as he did so. After shutting the door behind him, the mercenary adjust the sword on his back and started towards the ruins, wondering just what kind of treasure he would find.

As he moved closer to the entrance, occasionally his tail would twitch as an insect latched onto it. "Damn pests," he said with a grunt, before easily cutting down one of the trees that blocked the entrance. Again, he let out a low whistle. This was going to be a great find--the Highlander could feel it.

Welcome to the jungle, we have all kinds of pleasant bloodsucking bugs.

The sound of branches being cut reached the King's ears, and with a hiss of distaste, he slid into the waterway beside the path to follow the intruder. Being a water deity, he had no need to breathe, and as he approached the man, he stopped, watching him from the slightly murky water.

The bloodsucking bugs were nothing compared to creepy sounds, though. If it weren't for the fact that his hearing was top of the line, he might have missed the sound of the Raja Naga moving into the waterway. As it was, though, all he heard was a slight disturbance in the water--he wasn't sure if anything actually happened.

He inspected the murky water, tapping his foot and frowning. Maybe he was just being paranoid, there were all sorts of sounds in the ruins. Buzzing, croaking, hissing sounds. With a huff, he turned his back to the water. "Damn place is giving me the creeps now," he muttered under his breath, looking at the walls and trying to pick which way to go first.

As soon as he turned away, the Naga King sprang from his hiding place with a loud splash, immediately wrapping himself around the tiger man to render him immobile.

"Don't ya know you shouldn't trespass?" the snake King laughed, tightening his coils.

She had, at first, decided to ignore the weird door. It wasn't all that wise to enter random rooms in this hotel, let alone ones that looked even more unnatural than the entirely red ones. But... Perhaps it was the dark that greeted the eye when one looked into the doorframe at the first glance, or the muggy air that ghosted from the opening. It felt like an underground tunnel, or as close to one as you could get in this place.

And in the end, curiosity won out.

Minatsuki had walked a total of seventeen feet into the dark opening, one foot placed in front of the other before the idea that she was alone in this place became stupid, childish. She couldn't be alone in here. It just wasn't quite right.

"....Hello?" the brunette started. "...Is anyone here?"

Of course she wasn't alone. You're never alone in this hotel. At first, the only answer she got was the same natural sounds of birds and insects, but silence other than that. Then there was complete silence as the sounds of the jungle suddenly stopped, as if the animals themselves sensed danger.

The two sounds that could be heard in the silence were the babbling waterway, and the hiss of scales moving over stone. There was something large and reptilian lurking in the shadows of the ruins, and it was watching her.

Agito knows danger when he sees it - a fight waiting to happen. Here, he's taken to err on the side of caution, never knowing what he'll be up against and what dangers he could end up putting Akito in. This time, however, he doesn't see the harm in taking a look. The room is entirely different from ones he's seen before, though the stink in the air causes him to wrinkle his nose in slight distaste. No need for it to be so strong, he scoffs.

He treads carefully, deciding to jump from tree to tree rather than stay on the ground (it's a bitch cleaning grass and moss out of A-T wheels). It's faster traveling and, in general, a safer method. Until he runs into danger he'll make a game of it - which sounds can he locate the source of?

Childish and trivial, but Akito seems to enjoy the idea and so they'll play the game together.

The sound of birds singing is an easy one to locate. The feathered creatures fly through the branches, watching Agito inquisitively. The water is similarly easily spotted by the waterway that runs beneath the castle and alongside certain paths. Insects buzz in the air as well.

Though the one sound that may prove difficult to find would be the rustling of leaves as something moves through them. Something well-camouflaged and following the intruder through the trees.

There's a reason why people call them a shark and not some other kind of animal. The leviathan creating itself an ocean of blood. Akito is first to pinpoint the birds and certain insects, having always been better at paying attention to sounds than him. He focuses on scent more than sound, and is first to detect the water - the damp, earthy smell easy to identify.

Agito can tell he's being followed, but isn't sure by what or whom just yet. Water usually runs into a more open area: pond or lake. Either would be fine for him to seek refuge. He can walk on the water if he has to, or sink under it and rip oxygen from it to breathe. A clearing would be preferable though, and so he'll keep an eye open for one.

Should Akito use the water for refuge, he'd be much more vulnerable than if he stayed in the trees. The creature stalking him was as suited to water as a fish, possibly even moreso.

It followed him through the branches, but the closer it crept, the colder the air became, until frost began to form on the leaves around Akito.
