Kia knew he should've been home a few hours ago, but he'd been too caught up in racing his bike around and trying to get in someone's pants to give a fuck. He didn't drink or do any other drugs and he wasn't about to get some girl pregnant, so he didn't think his family should care how late he came home on the weekends, especially when he helped

Jack had been in the kitchen, sneaking a midnight snack when he heard someone come in. With a glass of milk in hand, he headed in the direction of the laundry room and peeked in, his robe tied loose; so that's what his adoptive brother had been. "You've been gone an awful lot...you ok?"

Kia smiled a little when he saw his brother, although he would've expected him to be sound asleep by now. He nodded and pushed some of his hair back into a slightly less messy arrangement. "I'm fine. Just needed to do something to relax tonight so I was out with my friends. And why are you still awake?"

"I can't sleep." Jack smiled a little and offered up his glass of milk. "I'm hoping this'll put me to sleep. But then again...this is my third glass." Clearly, milk wasn't helping things.

"I think that only helps if the milk is warm. Have you tried anything else?" he wondered as he looked at the glass for a moment. There were plenty of things he could suggest -- some less appropriate than others -- and Kia wanted to know what to cross off his mental list first.

[OOC: Is Jack older or younger than Kia for this scene?]

"I haven't...not yet anyway." Hadn't thought about putting it in the microwave yet. "Think that'll help?"

((Canonly Jack is 24 but acts like a moron and quite younger than he should be...I can de-age him a little if you want X3))

"It might. We can try and then go from there if it doesn't help. I'm sorta hungry anyway." He'd grab clothes...in a moment. It was warm enough that he didn't need to pull anything else on and they were both guys anyway, so it wasn't a bit deal.

Jack nodded and headed back over to the microwave to put his glass of milk into it. Setting the timer, well, now he had to wait. "There are some leftovers in the fridge."

"Thanks. I'll heat them up once you're done with the microwave." He ruffled Jack's hair for a moment. Sometimes it was easy to forget that they were just months apart in age rather than years.

Jack chuckled at the ruffle and moved to return it too. "Shouldn't be too long."

"I know, I know. What's on your mind keeping you up anyway?" he wondered as he got himself a plate of the food in the fridge. Kia's stomach rumbled, anticipating a late snack soon.

"I guess it's you being out all the time. I don't know." Jack sighed as he pulled his milk from the buzzing microwave. "Maybe I'm used to you being home before midnight or later."

"Sorry," he said softly before he stuck his own plate in to get warm. "I was racing my bike so we'd all have a bit more money in case things got tight again." Kia always had good intentions, even when he ended up doing things that didn't seem right.

"You'll have to be careful when you do that. I mean, I know you're doing good for the family, but you can seriously get hurt..." Jack sighed and finished his milk. "Guess I just worry too much."

"I'm as careful as I can be," he assured. When he noticed how worried Jack looked, Kia rubbed his shoulder lightly for a moment. "You don't worry too much -- you just want me to stay safe."

He munched more of his food with a small smile on his face. It always felt nice to know that someone worried about him.

He may have been adopted, but that's what brothers were for. "Right." Jack smiled and finished his glass of milk, giving a shrug. "I don't feel any different."

After he finished eating, he thought for a moment about what might help Jack sleep better. "I'm home now, so you can stop worrying, but if you wanna know what helps me get to sleep...I just look through a porn magazine and touch myself. Try something like that?"

It might not have been the best idea, but it was what worked best for Kia, so....
