No need for words, TF ficlet

Because my brain can't write sequentially. This is all set very far forward in the second story, That Which Waits in the Dark.
Edit: It's entirely possible this doesn't fit into the main story-line anymore and could be regarded as a deleted scene.

Title: No Need for Words
Continuity: post 2007 movie, AU
Verse: The Lost Bot
Characters: Prowl and Jazz
Disclaimer: Not mine

There is a silence between them. Jazz studiously avoids looking at Prowl as the tactician comes up behind him even though he knows that Prowl is watching him, armor gleaming and finally repaired at least from the horrors Shockwave had inflicted on Prowl. A slight huff and the tilt of Prowl’s helm away from him had Jazz stealing a brief look. The smirk that sits on the corner of Prowl’s faceplates says that Prowl’s intense focus misses nothing even when he’s not looking.

There has never been any need for words when it came to them. There was the strange understanding of each other that could let them carry entire conversations without vocalizing a word.

“I’ve always thought of you as Prowl,” Jazz said at last. It’s entirely possible that he might be fidgeting, but that would be ridiculous. Really.

After a moment’s long pause as Prowl digested this statement in his methodical way, dissecting each word down to its constituent parts, the tactician said simply, “I know.”

They didn’t need any more words than that.
