Darkened: The hermit in the wilds (Part 3/7)

I was going to write the backstory of one adorable little red mech. But then he started talking and talking and said we should go back here because he wanted a life lesson. Well. He didn't want a life lesson, he really just wanted to be in the spotlight (not that he wouldn't be in his own backstory, but he's not very big on logic) then Jazz came ( Read more... )

Very cute and horrifying fluff. Like the reason why Jazz struggles with Prowl... I imagine that the amount of violation that forces a bot to rewrite his own core programs has to be staggering. Not even mentioning the little fact of the spark sync...

I'd initially devised the whole thing as just Jazz not having a chance to figure out who he wanted to be before getting into a really deep relationship with Prowl Mark I, which he then resented Prowl Mark III for. But then plot happened and things got really deep and messed up.

I blame Zoom-Zoom for making this fluffy. I was trying to write a depressing and dark conversation and he just. kept. interrupting. I seriously couldn't stop him. He bickers constantly with Jazz inside my head.

When the plot decides to do its own thing, more often then not it becomes better... ;)
Zoom-Zoom is a great character. I've never heard of him before, so I'm loving him. :D He's like... the cosmic retribution to Jazz's behaviour in many other fanfics.

Zoom-Zoom I think existed as a Binaltech toy only, he never made it into any series. I stumbled upon him on Tf-wiki here: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Zoom-Zoom
As you can see, I completely high-jacked his non-existent personality. I was thinking using the name as one of Jazz's aliases. But as things darkened with Counter-Shift, I needed a balance to keep Jazz going off the deep end.
And yes, he does seem like cosmic retribution. Immature!Jazz can drive me a little nuts sometimes. Zoom-Zoom is my response.

The bio on tfwiki really tells not exactly much about his personality. I'm happy that you high-jacked him and it would make a nice alias. Definitely more creative than just Meister. ;)

LOL, don't knock Meister. I'm quite fond of it. xD But I do need more aliases for Jazz. All the obscure canons that I keep digging up that could possibly work keeping developing fully fleshed personalities.
Vibes was another one that I was thinking of using and now Vibes has become Prowl's cyber-ninja brother-in-arms sort of character.

*grins* I've used Meister myself. And I love that name, just for the reason that it's German I would love it. But the meaning is great as well. ;)
Are you only searching for canon cover names? That you could maybe use Agent 113 or Checkpoint. That's two names I've on my own list as cover names.

I'm not exactly looking for cover names. I've got this thing in my head that mechs sometimes change their designations over the course of their life simply because they live for so long. So who they were when they were young could be someone completely different from who they are as they age and the change in designations reflect this.
And given how old Jazz is in this story, he's gone through several designation changes and frame reformats. So it's more names for different periods in his lifetime.

I see. :) I've heard and read about that concept a few times, but no one had really followed it through. Will be interesting to see what you do with it.
