9 “What is taking him SO long? Didn't he say he would be here in half an hour?” Sung Ri protested, looking at her watch
“What is the rush? He is just ten minutes late you know?” Yoon Jae said
“I'm anxious about what he said, you know, going to my house and stuff. I'm worried.”
“I don't see why you should worry”
“I'm worried because his mouth is too big for his own sake. What if he tells my mom what happened? Just the possibility of her knowing about the pregnancy drives me crazy.” Sung Ri said, rubbing her arms
“Well she would have to know if the abortion didn't happen” Yoon Jae stated “Oh, look, he is here.” The girl said, pointing at Junsu who walked towards them.
“Sorry, I know I'm late” He said, looking at Yoon Jae
“Yah! So THIS is half an hour?” Sung Ri bursted
“I already said I am sorry. Why are you so grumpy?”
“You apologised to Yoon Jae, not me. Yah, I'm a patient, you know? I just got out of the hospital and here I am waiting for you, who is late.”
“Why should I apologise to you? You are a very energetic patient as I can see and I Yoon Jae was the one who had to put up with your foul mood so I am sorry for her who had to deal with you, grumpy-pants!”
“WHAT?” She said, almost yelling
“Could you please stop screaming? Aren't you a patient? Why do you have so much energy?”
“Oh, you bought something Junsu?” Yoon Jae asked, trying to change the subject.
“It's a present for a friend.” He replied but Yoon Jae was not looking at him anymore. Instead, she was looking at something else, across the road.
“You have time now don't you, Junsu?” The girl asked
“Yeah.”
“Good. Sorry Sung Ri but I just remembered have to go somewhere but I will call you later, okay?” Yoon Jae said, hurriedly and starting to run down the street.
“What is the rush?” Sung Ri murmured
“You! Hurry” Junsu said and Sung Ri blinked twice, silently ask him where they were going “I said I was going to your house, remember?”
The girl's eyes widened then “You really don't have to.”
“Come on!” He said, grabbing her wrist and walking her to the car.
The trip would be short, Junsu knew that even because he recognized the neighbourhood as the same place he had found Sung Ri while on his mission.
“You live nearby, don't you?” He asked and she just mumbled a shy 'yes'
“It's better if I leave the car here then since the road up there is too narrow.” He said, stopping the car and opening the door “You are not coming?”
“I really can go home by myself” She said
“Are you going to keep insisting on that?”
“I don't want you to go to my house, don't you get it? I don't want you to talk to my mother.”
“Why?”
“Can't you guess just by looking around you? I live in a poor neighbourhood with my mother and my three younger brothers. The house almost can't handle us five living there; my mom works two jobs to be able to provide for us and even so, she insisted that I went to college to study and be a better person. She has no idea that this happened.”
“I am not going to tell her what happened. I am smart enough to know that you are not a rich princess living in a castle so I could guess that you were hiding the pregnancy from your family too since you are the kind of person that keeps the problems to herself. I just want to talk to your mother about something else, so don't make me wait and get out of the car.”
Sung Ri sighed and then finally did what Junsu told her and led the way.

Back in the street, Yoon Jae finally found whom she had seen previously: Yoon Ki.
She had spotted him going down the street so she decided to follow him although she didn't quite know why she was doing that after all they were not friends, they had seen each other twice only but nonetheless she followed the boy until he went inside a book store.
Even so, not even two minutes after, she lost him and when she started looking around, he appeared behind her, scaring the living hell out of her.
“Are you looking for someone?” He asked
“Oh my gosh, don't scare me like that! Are you some kind of ghost?”
“You are the scary one.” He said
“ME?”
“Yes, you. Stalker. You have been following me around for fifteen minutes already. Do you want to talk to me or something?”
“I... don't.”
“So it's your hobby following people around?” He asked, sarcastically
“I am not following you, I just wanted to make sure it was you who I saw previously”
“It's confirmed then. Can you stop following me now?”
Yoon Ki backed away then, leaving Yoon Jae alone as he approached one of the shelves, took two books from there and headed to the counter to pay. Yoon Jae fumed and grabbed the first book she saw and followed Yoon Ki who looked back at her with a questioning look.
“What? Am I not allowed to buy a book?”
Yoon Ki looked at the book she had in her hand and tried to suppress his laughter “It certainly has an interesting title...” he said, as Yoon Jae put the book on top of the counter and then finally looked at the title of the book she had: 'Learn to explore your body' and then she hoped to be swallowed by a black hole, given the embarrassment.
Yoon Ki snorted then and proceeded into paying his books and leaving the store so Yoon Jae followed him again, ignoring the calls from the employee and leaving the embarrassing book behind.
“Do you have a problem with me or something?” Yoon Ki asked as soon as he saw her following him again
“No but I just figured that since you went to my house, slept on my couch and used my bathroom, following you is just a small thing.” She said and he suddenly stopped and turned around to look at her as if she was an alien.
“What kind of twisted thinking is that? So you follow me around because I helped you getting home? I'm sorry to disappoint you but I don't think one thing connects to the other”
“Of course it does. It's not that I am following you for a bad reason, it's just that I think we can be more comfortable around each other instead of you ignoring me and vice versa as if we didn't know each other.” She tried to reason.
“You saw me from the other side of the street,” He satarted “I didn't, so how am I ignoring you? You followed me around for fifteen minutes and got embarrassed all by yourself just because you would not admit that you were following me, which you clearly are. Considering all this, out of the two of us, you are the one acting weird besides, I went to your house because you decided that getting drunk and falling passing out in a bar was a good idea while in my case, unfortunately I have a conscience so I got the trouble to get you home instead of leaving you sleeping on your doorstep.
It was late and I was tired so I am so sorry for sleeping on your completely uncomfortable couch which left me with a pain on my back that I wish I didn't have. You should be thanking me instead of following me around, saying that I used your couch and your bathroom.”He finished, taking a deep breathe.
“Wow... such a great monologue. Just so that you know, I was just saying those things, not because I'm petty but because I have a reputation to maintain, alright?”
“What? Rep-Reputation?” He muttered before starting to laugh hysterically “Ok, so now it's because of your reputation. Are you worried about the people that saw you with me? Are you afraid of rumours? Oh, I see, you have a boyfriend and don't want him to find out, right?” He asked and her expression darkened at the mention of the word 'boyfriend'.
“No, this is not a boyfriend problem, okay?”
“Why? Did you have a fight already? Do you want me to talk to him and tell him how much of a good girl you are so he can forgive you?”
“Would you...just shut up?” She almost yelled in an angry tone and with tears forming in her eyes. “I really don't know why I followed you around. It was a bad decision. Don't worry, from now on I won't do it again; You can ignore me when you see me in the street if you want to.” She said, turning her back on him and walking away, leaving him speechless.

Meanwhile, a few blocs from there, Sung Ri and Junsu were sitting down, in front of the girl's mother. The girl bowed her head, apologizing for not calling the night before as her mother sighed.
“If you excuse me, Mrs Park, my name is Junsu and I am Sung Ri's friend from college. It is my fault that Sung Ri spend the night outside.”
“What?” The woman yelled “Sung Ri since when do you have permission to - ”
“No, it's not like that,” Junsu interrupted “Sung Ri spent the night in the hospital.”
“Junsu!” Sung Ri protested
“Sung Ri felt sick at college, so I took her to the hospital. The doctor said that it would be good for her to spend the night in observation so that was why she could not come home. I am sorry for not calling you either.” He said, bowing his head also
“What is wrong with my daughter?”
“I don't know if you were aware of this but Sung Ri has anaemia. It means that when she is weaker she can faint, feel dizzy and weak and she also has a higher risk of contracting other illnesses since her defences are at a lower level.
You don't need to worry though. All she has to do is to eat well and take the medication that the doctor prescribed. Here it is.” He said, handing the paper to Sung Ri's mother.
“You said your name was Junsu, right?”
“Yes”
“Junsu, as you must have noticed when you entered our house, we are poor and our finances are in a very bad condition at the moment. Sung Ri has three younger brothers and her father died when the youngest was only two years old. I love my children more than anything in this world and nothing pains me more that knowing that my daughter is ill but I can't provide what she needs to be healthy.” The woman said, almost crying.
“Mom...”
“I understand your situation and that is the reason why I wanted to talk to you personally. Right now, Sung Ri has a scholarship at college, which means that she has to try even harder in order to maintain it but your daughter's health is also important and although I know you are worried about her, I also know how difficult it would be for you to follow the plan that the doctor recommended and buy all the medication. For that reason, I came to ask you to let Sung Ri move to my house for awhile.” Junsu said and Sung Ri widened her eyes.
“Sung Ri going to a boy's house? How could I allow such thing?” Her mother said
“I know it might sound inappropriate but I can guarantee that I have no other intentions besides helping her get better. The house is empty most of the time since I often go to my father's house. Sung Ri would be completely free to walk around there and there would always be someone to help her if she needs.
“So you are not living in the house?”
“You can rest assured that I rarely use the main house.” He said
The woman looked at Sung Ri then “What do you think?”
“I don't know. This also comes as a surprise for me. I don't know how I feel about going to other person's house...”
“You going there is not a problem or I would not offer it in the first place besides, it's for your health to improve. The maids can take care of your food and everything else you need.”
“Take it, Sung Ri.” Her mother said
“But mom...”
“Thank you for what you are doing, young man. Sung Ri, I would rather you stay with us, but right now you must think about your health so don't worry about me and your brothers and just stay healthy so that you can come back quickly. Don't give Junsu any trouble and don't forget to study hard.”
“Mom, you are already sending me off and I didn't even said 'yes' “
“I will help you pack right now. You can take what you'll need most and you can always come back if you need something.” The mother said, getting up and heading towards Sung Ri's bedroom, followed closely by the girl.
In less than twenty minutes, Junsu was carrying the girl's bags down the street and she was bidding her mother goodbye for the moment.
Sung Ri got to the car where Junsu stayed - in order to give her and her mother some privacy.
“Did you bring everything?” He asked and she hummed “Alright, let's go then.”
“Thanks” She said, almost whispering and he kept looking at her as if he really could not hear what she said “I said 'Thanks'. Thanks for all of this; for not telling her about the pregnancy and for being so nice to her.”
“You have a good mother.”
“I know” She assented
Junsu turned on the car's engine then and both of them headed to his house. The trip took them half an hour and after passing by what Sung Ri used to call as the 'richest part of town', filled with luxury apartments, she saw Junsu driving towards a private condominium. After checking his ID with the security guard, the main gate opened and the car got inside.
All that Sung Ri could see was a cute little house at her left, a massive mansion in the middle and another little house at her right. Both of the houses looked like studios and were linked to the mansion by a wooden bridge and then a huge garden surrounded the three houses, making the place look even more dashing than it already was.
“Wow! Is this really yours?”
“The last time I saw it, my name was on the papers, so yes, it's all mine” He said, mocking her. “Come on, I'll show you around. I will ask the butler to pick your bags later.”
Junsu started the 'tour' by showing the different parts of the houses then.
“A you can see, there are three distinctive parts to the house. The main house and the two 'attachments'. The main house is where everything is: the living rooms, the kitchen and everything else, including my main bedroom. At your right, you have my studio where I often stay and at your left you have the other studio which is where you will be staying. It's like a mini-house because since it's smaller, it's cosier but has what you need: a bedroom, a bathroom and a small living room.”
“Can I go see it?”
“Sure, go ahead. I am going to call the butler to bring your bags.”
Sung Ri headed to the studio, walking the wooden bridge that linked the houses and was quickly amazed at what Junsu called “smaller”. A few minutes later Junsu got inside.
“So what do you think? If you think the bedroom is small, there are bigger bedrooms in the main house if you want to stay there.” He said
“No, it's perfect.”
“Alright then, you make yourself home then. The butler left the bags in the living room. Don't worry about meals or cleaning around since the maids do all that, okay? While you get yourself comfortable I will let the chef know we have another moth to feed” He joked “Just so that you know, I usually am at the other studio and only go to the main house to eat or to sleep since my maid bedroom is bigger.”
“Wait a minute” She interrupted “Didn't you say that the house was empty most of the time and that usually you went to your dad's?”
“Yes I did and I didn't lie. The main house is almost always empty because I'm always in the studio and it is true that sometimes I go to my dads'. Of course I had to say it in a different way or your mother would have never let you come here.”
“Wow, so you sleep in your 'main bedroom', spend the days in your studio and sometimes go to your dad's house? You sure keep yourself busy.”
“You see, my dad's company has a private complex where a lot of his employee’s live and where his offices are located so, once in awhile when I have to help him do something I stay there but I live here since I felt I needed my own space and bought this house.”
“I noticed you were rich but I didn't know you were this much! What does your family do fr a living?” She asked and Junsu felt a chill going down his spine.
“He is a business man” He answered “Do you know the 'Hashi' group?”
“Of course I have, it's the most powerful financial group in the country. I think the CEO is a half Japanese, half Korean man who came to Korea and made a fortune. I think his name was Enki?”
“Enoki. Hashi Enoki. That is my dad.” Junsu said, naturally
“Your WHAT? Are you really telling me that you are the son of who it is probably the richest man around? Are you an only child? That means you are the heir! Oh my God!” She spazzed
“I thought you knew...”
“Woah... talking at you brings me a strange feeling of responsibility... It's like talking to a gold bar.”
“Are you nuts?”He asked, hitting her in the head “Why am I a gold bar? Anyway, you have your stuff now so if you need something, ask the maids or the butler. The dinner is served in the main house by the way.”
“You are not staying?”
“No, I have to go see a friend and talk to my father. I will probably sleep there. You are not afraid of staying here without me, right?” He asked, raising a brow.
“You can go Mr. 'Golden Bar' ” She replied, teasing him also.
Junsu smiled then and left. Sung Ri saw him going inside the main house and getting out about minutes later with a bag in his hand.
The girl kept looking through the window, still amazed at those houses and at Junsu for being who he was and for a moment, those thoughts made her think about her previous boyfriend, Moon Bin. He was also the son of an influential man and he also came from a very rich family which was the reason why his parents never liked her nor acknowledged their relationship.
She could not help it but to feel sad, thinking about Moon Bin and all that happened; the news about the pregnancy; Moon Bin's reaction, the end of their relationship; her hard work to get the scholarship; the first time she saw Junsu at 'Purple Line'; her surprise when she found out they were in the same class at college; what he did when she ignored him; his help in getting her to the hospital; her losing her baby and the night he spent beside her in the hospital.
Everything happened in such a short time and now Sung Ri was living with Junsu. It was actually pretty scary how things were developing but anyway, the girl decided that not to think about it anymore and started unpacking.
~*~
Junsu parked his car and headed to the elevator where he pressed the button for the 10th floor. As he got there, the boy got off and knocked on one of the doors, unable to keep his smile.
“Junsu, my friend!” Changmin greeted
“Who is your friend?” He said, hitting his forehead
“Ouch! What? Did you came to ask me something else? I don't know if I want to help you anymore since you're being so cold with me.” Changmin said.
“You are indeed a great dramatic actor, aren't you?”
“Get in.”
“It's okay, I can't take long.” Junsu said, giving a paper bag to Changmin
“Ohh! Is this what I think it is?”
“Your payment.”
“You are such a generous person, Junsu, thanks a lot.”
Junsu scoffed then “You are too easy to please. Sometimes I really do think whether we really are the same age.”
“You really don't want to get inside?” Changmin asked and Junsu nodded “Alright then, I will play with my new toy.”
Junsu smiled as Changmin waved at him before closing the door and then Junsu headed to the elevator again however he stopped on his tracks as he got a call from his father.
“Hello? Yes father, I am in the building, do you need to talk to me? Oh...that.. no, I have it all ready and I was going now. Bye then.”
Junsu sighed while putting his cell phone inside his pocket again, deciding that he was not taking the elevator after all so he ended up going down more than ten floors just to get to the underground parking lot where he saw Yunho who had just arrived.
“Yo, Junsu” The elder called
“Hello hyung. What is all that?” He asked, pointing at the many bags Yunho had in his hands
“Food. That is what humans eat in order to live.” He said, sarcastically “What happened to you? The last time I saw you was two days ago.”
“Nothing happened, just some stuff at college, nothing more.”
“Are you going home?” Yunho asked
“Not yet. I'll go to the beach today.” Junsu said and Yunho got the meaning of that immediately.
“Be careful then.”
“Don't worry, hyung. See you later”
Junsu opened the driver's door and got inside, started the engine and disappeared in an instant.
Yunho knew exactly what would take Junsu to the beach later on and he also knew it would not be an easy night for him.
It never was. At least not for Junsu.
