New Years Eve was pretty fun. I didn't get to see everyone I wanted to see, but I had a few people over and won a game of texas hold'em.
Keith and I started to Kung Fu play fight after we got drunk and he punched me really hard it the hand. Several hours later I realised that I had lost all upper muscle mobility of my right thumb. Though it was completely painless, I could no longer give thumbs up, have thumb wars, etc. I figured I would have to have X-Rays and feared that I would never regain use of my thumb again. I stayed awake until 4 a.m. or so trying to mentally will my somatic nervous system and primary motor cortex to work properly.
Fortunately in the morning it was completely healed. So my New Years Resolution was to never take the use of my right thumb for granted again.
