Football and Halloween!

What a GREAT weekend.
Well, it started out not-so-great, but that's ok. I've been having problems with my tonsils for a long time now, and on Friday, i went to a specialist and finally found out that i need to have them removed. So, i will be making that appointment tomorrow, perhaps for over Christmas break. But, i was relieved to find out this news, b/c i have been to so many idiot doctors who have misdiagnosed my problem. It was good to meet somebody who knew what they were doing.
After the doctor visit, Jeff and I were off to see a free screening of "Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism." Very interesting movie, and well worth the long time that i had been waiting to see it. My favorite part was when one of the Fox News anchors said "and, in other news, John Kerry was scaring old people today, as usual."
After the movie, it was a quick trip to Noodles & Company for dinner, and then home, with the excellent news that a Buffalo Wild Wings is coming to State Street!
At home, i made a ton of Jello Shots while Jeff and Jon put up christmas lights outside, and other decorations for the upcoming Halloween party. Eric showed up after awhile, and we all hung out for the rest of the night, with Eric and I spending the majority of the time talking about "Laguna Beach." Those crazy kids.
The next day, I got to sleep in until NOON! After that, Jeff, Eric and I were off to Ann Arbor Pioneer to meet up with Jeff's parents at their motor home. We were sooned joined by Bob, Sara, and then Jon. We all enjoyed lunch, and then headed out to the game.
I'm not going to bore you with the details of the game, b/c honestly, even though we won, i wasn't really that excited about it. The best part of the game, by far, was the fact that MICHAEL PHELPS WAS SITTING FOUR ROWS IN FRONT OF US! It was crazy, he was up there in the crappy student section, watching the game with a bunch of guys from the UM swim team. The people behind us noticed him and pointed him out at about halftime, and for the entire second half, i pretty much just stared at Michael Phelps the whole time. I didn't see much of the game. I know he's not THAT much of a celebrity, but i've never been that close to an Olympian before. And it's crazy to see somebody, 15 feet away from you, who you had watched win a billion gold medals on tv. Although, i do think it should be mandatory that Michael Phelps never wears a shirt, and always wears all his medals.
After the Michigan victory, we went home to have some jello shots for dinner before we all donned our costumes. Jon as Ron Burgendy, Jeff and Paris as Ron's sidekicks, Becky as the Riddler, Eric as "Hot Rocker", and me as some random news anchorwoman from the 70's. Shortly after all the parts of my costume were in place, people started arriving, and the party got on in full swing. Jamie showed up in her awesome sorceress costume, and that was great. So many people showed up, and it was so much fun. It was a good idea to have it behind the house, b/c there was no way everybody would have fit inside.
After a long, excellent day, i tried to get a good night's sleep, but failed miserably. But, i guess that is what Sunday night is for!
