“I still don’t see why we need to go to such an obscure little town in America.”

Harry rolled his eyes, Draco was in true smug-prat form today. And of course Harry was selected to travel with the annoying git to the small town of Beacon Hills, where the last of the Hales lived. Thanks to the Death Eaters and the second war, werewolves who were fighting for the dark, ran amok biting young adults and children, raising their own population. Too many accounts, gave detailed descriptions on what Grayback and the Dark Lord plans were for the upsurge in werewolves.

Now, with hundreds of muggle and magical weres, the Ministry couldn’t couldn’t ignore, hide or Merlin forbid, destroy them. Harry, on behalf of Remus, opened the Were Agency, a non-profit group of the advocation of werewolves. And now that Hogwarts will receive an upsurge of werewolf students, the WA was working with the school board to right rules and provide at school training, to the young wares.

So Harry, along with Headmaster Draco, found themselves traveling across the pond to look for a new teacher, Derek Hale, alpha of the Hale pack.

Sure there were werewolves much closer to home, but with so many issues still from the war, the school board decided to look for help from a neutral country. And an alpha will have the power to control wayward betas.

“Just be glad we got a portkey to the town itself, and didn’t have to fly from England. I know how much you would love flying in a Muggle airplane.”

“Merlin help me if they ever put me into one of those death traps. If Muggles were meant to fly, they would have magic.”

“I can’t believe you still have an issue with Muggles, and are allowed to be Headmaster.” Harry said, looking at his parchment with the directions on where the Hales lived.

“I don’t have a problem with Muggles. I have a problem with them making a giant tube of metal, tossing it into the air, and pray it stays in the sky. Where are we going anyway?”

“Well according to this, the Hales estate house is uninhabitable. All the remaining Hales live in town, Greenery St.”

“We’re going to have to take those Muggle cabs, aren't we?”

“No we can walk it, the map has us about six blocks away.”

Derek Hale’s home was not what either would expect an Alpha from a long stating werewolf pack to live. It was a large brick building that either wizard would have thought was abandoned if not for both their information and the spell Draco cast to see if anyone was living here.

“Maybe, like most wizard places inside Muggle neighborhoods, they keep the outside like this, to hid in plain site.” Harry said moving toward the large metal door. He didn’t notice anyway to announce his presence. Trying the door, he found it pulled right open, “Maybe we just go inside?”

“After you Chosen One.”

“I hate when people call me that.”

“That’s why I use it.”

Looking around inside the doorway. From the damage in the area and lack of dust on the floor, Harry and Draco found the only way to go was in the old service style elevator.

“Going up, I guess?” Harry said stepping into the elevator.

“I hope the man is worth it, because this is not what I was thinking.”

“Can it Draco,” Harry said pushing the up button.

The ride was slow and rickety, and Harry knew from the look on Draco’s face that he thought they were going to plummet to their deaths before they got to their destination. The whole thing came to a stop so abrupt, that Harry almost stumbled back into the far wall.

“I guess we're here. Let get this over with Potter.” Draco step off the elevator and right into a pack of pissed off werewolf pack. “Oh this thing opens up right into your-”

“Home. Yes and you walked into it because?” the older of the werewolves asked, arms crossed in a your annoying me gesture, then threatening.

It was Harry that answered, “We heard this is the home of the alpha of the Hale pack.”

Instead of an answer, Harry noticed the surrounding teenagers stiffen to a more defensive pose, he knew the signs of a pack on edge. “We just want to talk to him, honestly.”

Thank Merlin Draco let Harry handle talking to the pack. Draco may be smooth talking to any wizard that crossed his path, but he was so out of depth, when it came to Muggles and Werewolves. Draco and him might have been in a consist school yard rivalry, but when you watch your rival you learn their body language well, and he know Harry was telling him to step back and wait while the pack goes through their silent communication. Harry doubted either could surprise the other anymore.

While the pack was in a mix of talking through stares and eyebrow wiggles, Harry scoped out the four males in the room. Three look to be high school age, if he would have to guess, somewhere between fifteen and eighteen, and a older twenty something.

Harry could tell the tall one with curly blond hair was clearly a beta, from the way he was on the defense, yet waiting for instructions from either of the other two males standing next to him. The other teen standing next to him, was staring at the older male. This is where most of the silent conversation was happening. Harry could tell both males had respect for each other, even if there looked to be a power struggle. Could one of these be the Alpha they were looking for?

The third teen was sitting on top of a long wooden table, legs folded, book in his lap. However, he was not watching the other weres, but observing Draco and himself. Maybe a little too intently when he asked loudly, “What weapon do you have in your pocket?”

That got the attention of the other pack members causing one causing one to growl out at them. Harry held both his hand up palms out, showing he had nothing in them, “We don’t have any weapons on us. We’re just here to talk and -”

“And I think that it would be best for the two wizards to take a seat on the couch, don’t you Derek,” a male voice said from behind them. Turning to see, Harry saw a man older than the rest, with eyes glowing blue.

Draco and Harry’s bottoms barely reached the cushions before the teen sitting on the table broke the strained silence with, “So they’re are wizards too?”

“Really Stiles, with everything you have seen and some of the things you have done, the idea of wizards shock you?”

The teen on the table, Stiles, closed the heavy tomb in his lab and put it aside, “But how could you tell? They look normal human to me.”

Draco, snorted at the comment, bringing attention to himself from the weres in the room.

“It’s their smell. Wizards tend to use the same oil to polish their wands,” answered the oldest man, the one with the glowing blues eyes.

This time the snort came from Stiles. The two other teens grinned, “Is that what they call it now Peter?” the blond asked.
“No he’s right we’re real wizards with real wands. Here I can-”

“Keep your hand where we can see them, out I just might rip them off.” The threat came from the other adult, the not Peter one, “First who are?”

Around this time Draco felt it was safe enough to speak, and started introductions, which was fine with Harry. giving him time to look at this pack structure. He could tell it was broken, more like the haphazard ones that are popping up around England. The betas must be to new, and the Alpha is trying to handle his new status. But Hale could still be useful, where the pack didn’t show the normal werewolf customs, that Harry learned while studying the pack structure, they did have control. Which is their greatest concern with the new ware children getting older.

“So, why do we have two wizards from the UK here” Stiles asked.

“We have come to asked the Hale pack for assistance, with a werewolf problem where having,” Harry said to the pack but looking a Derek as he talked. It was rude to address another member of a wolf pack with out the Alpha permission.

“Sorry, but I am having a little problem with werewolves of my own,” Derek told them, arms still crossed, “Plus I can’t just leave my pack to help you out.”

“Well we can work thing out-”

“Hey Derek,” Stiles broke in “If they’re wizards, you think they can help with our Alpha problem?”

“Alpha problem?” Harry asked.

“Stiles.” Derek warned.

“Derek.” Stiles said back in the same tone, before talking to Draco and himself, “We have a pack of alphas, admit smaller than when they showed, but still trying to kill us.”

“Stiles.” Derek voice got a little harsher.

“Derek, look it would be beneficial for them to help us out.”

“Oh and why is that?” Draco asked clearly not amused.

”Because, if the Alpha-Alpha kills off the Hale pack, not only will you not have a Hale to help, but to second Dukie-boy learns there are hundreds of packless untrained werewolves in the UK, you can be damned sure he’ll be jumping on the first plane to visit across the pond.”

“Derek, Stiles is right. And with him that powerful he won’t stop at wolf packs.” Scott said.
“What do you mean?” Draco asked, Harry knew he was thinking of Hogwarts’ safety, it’s one of the reasons he never opposed Draco’s position had Headmaster. Draco had to live with the memories of that battle, and never wanted to see if happen again.

“There is an Alpha, Deucalion, that is killing werewolves to absorb their powers.” Peter said from where he was leaning against the table that Stiles still was sitting on.

“Merlin!” Draco said under his breath. “Harry, we can’t handle another-”

“I know Draco.” Pausing for breath Harry addressed Derek again, “What if we can help you Derek, will you consider helping us? We can arrange it were you can go back here with need and -”

“And, we are will to help your little wizard too.” Draco broke in.

“What?” was asked from more than one person, including Harry himself.

“Stiles, I take it you’re untrained?” Draco asked.

“Untrained in what? Magic? Dude I do not have magic.”

Draco stood and walked to Stiles, “That book you’re reading, can I see it?”

“Sure thing. It’s just something I borrowed from Dr. Deaton.” Stiles handed over the book. Draco opened up the tomb and skimmed the pages.

“Harry come here for a second, I want you to check something out.’ Waiting until Harry come up next to him, Draco handed over the book, pointing to the bottom of the page he was opened on. “This is on the bottom of every page I looked at.”

Harry wanted to curse under his breath, this was supposed to be an easy meeting, now it was turning into so much for.

“What is it?” Scott asked, as everyone watched the two wizards.

Harry took the book and handed over to Derek. Scott and Isaac, looked over Derek’s shoulder to look at the page Harry had open, “Can any of you read this?”

“It looks like so foreign middle eastern language to me,” Isaac squinting his eyes to the page.

“Stiles, if you could come down and read what's on this page.”

Huffing, Stiles jumped off the table, walked over to Derek, and took the book from him, “It’s about protection circles.”

“Good and this page?”

“Basic wards,”

“Okay, last one. Here?’

“Runes to protect objects.”

“Do see this design here at the bottom of the page?” Harry asked tapping the symbol.

“That is part of the protection runes on this book. It’s spelled to only let people with magic see the words and their meaning.”

“Dude! You’re a wizard Stiles!” Scott said clapping a hand on his shoulder.

“Mr. Hale,” Draco broke in, changing it to “Derek,” when he saw Peter watching him too, “I think it will be beneficial to the pack if we work together. We have werewolves that need to be taught, and you have a wizard that needs help.”

“Derek,” Harry continued, “Stiles has enough internal magic to read runes, I subject most students have to learn, like you were going to learn French.”

“Derek, you could call in Jackson to stay at this school of there’s to watch over the kids when you can’t be there,” Isaac suggested.

Giving a curt nod, Derek asked the wizards once again, “You still haven’t said; how can you help? We have had a magic user help use before, and it wasn’t any help.”

“That’s because we have the Chosen One, on our side,” Draco said with he Slytherin grin, causing Harry to moan in exasperation, “Harry Potter!”
