still reading devil in the white city and enjoying it. i think if you do not like the details of getting a massive architectual feat accomplished about 80% of the book would bore you to tears. i know more about the soil contents of chicago than i thought possible. but it doesn't bore me. not at all. and the 20% about the murderer, although a bit vague on details, is rather creepy. just the hotel he builds is creepy. gas outlets in every room controlled only by his room, a body sized kiln, rooms for surgical use. so often i find myself speeding through the worlds fair details to get to the murderer but all in all i like it a lot. i've been reading nearly 100 pages a day and that is an awful lot for me. i'm a terribly slow reader.
i wouldn't recommend it everyone because of the 80% but if you like that sort of thing then totally yes.
