Anyone watching on ION?

ION Television has shown the first four seasons in the US using a two episode block on Tuesdays and Sundays. ION will be airing future seasons, as they've signed on as a co-producer, but unfortunately they didn't start airing season five, possibly because it hasn't finished airing in Canada. So they've restarted season one, which I mostly missed ( Read more... )

They've actually returned a little bit to some stuff from season one this season. They brought back a season one character, and addressed who his family was hiding from in one of this seasons's webisodes. I'm really hoping that means they're going to wrap up some of the plot threads before the end of the season, but we'll see.

That's good to hear. Perhaps once their ratings were better established, that freed them up to touch upon past plot points.

Now I just have to wait for ION to catch up! :)

What you really need is for Ion to show the webisodes! That's where we actually found out who they were running from (although with very little detail).

It's possible they might air them. They've had some short "behind the scenes" things during commercial breaks. Or at least put them on their web site eventually.

I would so love them to do a bit of Toby's past, but I have to say I do enjoy the episode a week format rather than having a huge arc that takes over as so many shows seem to do these days. I really, really, really wish they would also bring out the DVDs.

I think my problem with long arcs is when so many of them are never resolved. If they could do case-of-the-week, with Toby looking into his history in the background of stories, with a season finale "Here's an answer!" instead of a cliffhanger, that would be the best of both worlds.

Totally agree about DVDs. I can't understand why they're not out anywhere other than season one in R2. Though I do wonder if the lack of distribution to a network in the US until recently might have been an issue?

If the production company was working on trying to get US distribution, they probably wouldn't want DVDs out until after it aired, because that could be a selling point to a network, "It's cheaper for you because it's already made, but it's new to your audience!"

Could just be the first season DVDs didn't sell well enough. Lots of Canadian shows never make it to DVD, or only get one season of DVDs. Sad but true.
