So I pierced my lip last night. It looks pretty good but the ring is a little big, but they had to pierce it that way! So... but its okay! I will change it in two weeks, even though they said to wait 6.
I havent written in about a week. I know, Im slacking. And its not that I havent been bored, but sometimes getting on a keyboard and typing shit out just seems inanimate.
However, I have a little bit to write about.
My friend John Bomen passed away late Saturday night. I got the call Sunday morning pretty early. He died with a needle in his arm. It could have been me. And a million times it should have been me. But it just takes me back. I remember what it was like getting high with him, and even though he was a junkie, he was an awesome guy, and he wasn't the hustling type... he wasn't the scheming time, he did everything as "honestly" as he could. Yet, I WAS the hustling scheming type... and I lived. Not only did I live, but I got to get sober. It's just tragic how many people never find the program and are never able to experience the peace that I have experienced in the last 9 months. It was what it was. And it is what it is. It's just crazy. It's sad. It's a lot of things. He was one of the last I would think would go. But this is #3 in 9 months. Makes me worry about Thomas. I always knew I would bury him if he didnt get his shit together. And he wont. So it's hard.
On another note, I leave for Destin next Wednesday night after work. Im going down for the convention. Me, Tom, Mark, Lauren, and Will all got a 2 bedroom condo on the beach for dirt cheap. So it's going to be awesome just getting to go down for 5 days and chill out, get some A.A. in us. haha! No, I'm stoked. Lauren is from New York so she has only been to Florida once, when she was really little, so I'm really axcited about taking her. She is excited about going. Also, it;s her first convention. So a couple of firsts for her and I get to experience them with her. Life really is good.
