There was 'Flyboy' again... If she didn't stop that, he'd have explaining to do, undoubtedly. He wasn't known much for being a pilot around here...
At Boone's word, Jon exhaled as his position shifted to more of a casual 'parade rest', one hand behind him, one forward and relaxed on his weapon. His gaze shifted from the captain to the rest of the crew, landing on Xander, and there it remained for a moment.
Setting his expression to a somewhat suitable neutral, he'd learned yet one more thing today, and that was the Captain had some experience with the whole universe-jumping thing. Go figure. Was there anyone around who didn't somehow experience the wonder that was trying to figure out what the HELL was going on in someone else's universe while having to work on fixing the mess that was going on in their own?
"Begging the Captain's pardon," Rarely, as far as Jack was concerned, did this bode well. "... but permission to be dismissed." He was, after all, in the presence of a superior officer, and there was the possibility that he was going to be asked to do something. "I have to check on the duty sergeant, and report to Major Lorne..." Who was still sitting in the 'jumper, monitoring the output of the other Ancient ship. Undoubtedly, he'd get the stand down, but not before they were out and away.
"Ladies," he offered the word as his 'good-bye', knowing without a doubt he'd see them later, and again.. "Xander.."
(Wheels within wheels,) Cassandra thought watching the interplay between her group and the locals. Clearly not everyone was on the same page here. Jon's behavior said as clearly as if he'd spoken it aloud that Boone didn't know he was a clone of General O'Neill.
And Jon had been just as much in the dark about Boone's relationship with another Xander from another universe. Cassandra wondered about that. There was a story there, she was certain. Maybe one day she'd hear it.
Cassandra nodded acknowledgment as Jon prepared to take his leave. "Au revoir," she said. It was a small colony. They'd see him again soon no doubt.
"So--Chloe, Faith. What's the word?"
"They would like to have their doctor examine us," Chloe said. "Make sure we aren't going to infect everyone with something awful. And they also requested that we let a Doctor Carter look over the li--the ship. Other than that--" Chloe shrugged. "We'll get the grand tour of the place."
Cassandra nodded. It sounded more or less like she'd expected, and it wasn't unreasonable. The medical exams probably had more to do with making sure they were who--and what--they said they were than fears of a plague. They'd already had ample opportunity to pass on anything virulent. But given the existence of the Goa'uld and other nasties, Cassandra didn't blame them.
"Sounds reasonable," Cassandra said. She looked at Captain Boone. "When did we want to take care of the exams? The sooner the better, I assume."
Jon's request to be dismissed seemed just a little too formal given Ron's experience with any of the O'Neill's he'd dealt with. But no less true. "Of course, and I'm sure you need to finish your debriefing." A gesture indicated that Ron was happy for Jon and his detail to leave.
Turning to Cassandra he continued "now would be good. I have to attend myself, so I'll take you."
"Bobby" he called to the perimeter "Keep the gawkers away, and we'll be back in a bit."
