Jack couldn't resist a smile of relief and amusement as he heard Ron recite the quote from Shakespeare. There had been several times during Jack's over a century in Torchwood people had spoken those words. It was comforting to know Ron was willing to accept the truth of who he was that simply. Jack watched him smile and stand before making any move to get up himself. Once he was sitting up Jack nodded at Ron's words of sympathy and instruction. He told him, "The coat will be fine. It isn't just vintage. I've had it since WWII. In order to keep it around that long, doing what I was doing for a living and being what I am, I've made some... modifications... to it over the years. The rest I'll have to change, but I've got spares in my pack. I'm use to carrying them, just in case. Usually I'd be tired and sore for a while. I can remember I'm bruised not healed."
Jack took the hand up Ron offered him not bothering to hide his pleasantly surprised expression as he realized how much Tok'ra and host had done to make his usual healing process go more quickly and less painfully. Jack told them sincerely, "Thank you for the healing you did. You didn't need to do more than cover my own natural healing. It's slow and painful after a death like tonight's, but it works. You made it go faster and less painfully. Thank you."
