Dexter sat inobtrusively in a corner, hands wrapped around his now-lukewarm cup of coffee. Due to the absence of certain other pastimes, he was currently indulging himself in his new hobby: people-watching. The breakfast rush was slowly starting to filter out, as everyone went off to their respective tasks. A quick glance at his watch - 7:30. Enough time for maybe a little more, then.
Today, the words "Tau" and "Stargate" were floating around more than usual. He wasn't exactly out of the loop, per se - he wasn't exactly in the loop, either, but he usually caught most of the news from the others at the labs - but what people talk about around their friends is often a lot juicier than what they say to their clueless co-worker-slash-acquaintance. Slowly sipping his coffee, he sat back and tried to catch some of the latest gossip.
