I participated in the
Support Stacie fanfic project, where you write about any fandom, so long as it has a "healing" theme. And I ended up doing a Runaways fic, just something short & sweet.

ACHOO!
The sneeze resonated throughout The Hostile and for the hundredth time tonight Chase was amazed that such an explosion could come from such a small girl. Then again, it shouldn't surprise him, considering how much raw power Molly housed. He handed her a tissue.
Sniff. "Thanks Chase," Molly said quietly, her stuffy nose changing her pronunciation.
"Anytime, squirt," he said, putting his hand on top of her head. He immediately withdrew it, she was burning up.
Molly leaned back again, with Old Lace as her backrest. The raptor nuzzled its head against her comfortingly and she pet its head. "Thank you too, Old Lace," Molly tried to say, but it came out more as "dank you doo, Olb Labce." With dinosaurs, though, it was the thought that count.
Karolina walked in with a small shopping bag in hand. Finally, thought Chase who walked across the room to take it from her. He pulled out a small bottle of aspirin and opened it as fast as the child proof cap would allow and shook some into his open palm. "How many do I give her?"
"I don't know, does the superhuman strength thing come with a faster metabolism?" she asked, taking the bottle to inspect the directions on its side.
"I think so. Does it say anything about that on there?"
Karolina looked at him and rolled her eyes, then responded sarcastically. "Yes, Chase, I bought the special Tylenol for Mutants."
"Well I don't know!" Chase replied indignantly.
"Give her one and a half a dose then," she suggested. "Not enough to overdose at least. And if her body burns through that too fast we'll give her more."
Chase did as he was told and put all but three of the pills back in the bottle, handing it back to Karolina. He walked back to where Molly lay and knelt down next to her. He picked up the almost empty water bottle she'd been drinking from and unscrewed the cap. Chase helped the young girl sit up again and handed her the bottle and the pills.
"Here, I need you to take these," he told her.
Molly scrunched up her nose and pushed his hands away. "I hate swallowing pills."
"Molly, you need to take the pills if you're going to get better," he insisted, forcing the pills into her hand.
"But they make my throat hurt!" she complained.
Chase sighed and took all three pills back. He placed them on the chair next to where he now was and smashed each one into dust. Then he swept the particles into the water bottle, careful to get as little as possible on the floor. He recapped the bottle and shook it up, mixing the powder in with the water.
He unscrewed the cap again and pushed the bottle towards Molly again. She looked at it, then at him, a you-can't-be-serious look on her face. "Drink it, it'll make you feel better."
The girl looked unconvinced, but nevertheless drank the bottle's entire contents in a single gulp. "Yuck!"
"Maybe you'll take the pills next time then," he said with a small smile. "Now go back to sleep."
Molly nodded and laid down again, her eyes already heavy. Just before sleep took her entirely the girl spoke again, quieter. "Thanks for taking care of me, you're like a big brother."
"Anytime, Mol."
