"I'm meeting with a friend for lunch," Neville said to Kenneth. "I don't know how long I'll be gone."
Kenneth waved him off, his attention already turning back to the puffapods he was helping the others harvest. Neville watched them work for a moment with a small smile. Some things, he thought, were still as they should be.
Neville Disapparated to Diagon Alley and walked the short distance to the Leaky, enjoying the sunny day. Small things, he told himself. Business was good, it wasn't raining, and he was meeting with Hermione for lunch. It was the little things that mattered.
Walking into the Leaky, he stopped short, looking around for several long moments before realizing his jaw had dropped and he probably looked like an idiot. It was so different! Other than the fact that he was quite obviously in a pub, there was nothing recognizable. All of his favorite nooks and crannies and private corners were gone.
Maybe the place had changed management since the last time he was here? Maybe it wasn't the Leaky anymore?
Still standing just inside the doorway, he looked around for Hermione, hoping that the Leaky hadn't moved to a new location.
