Rita disappeared, but she didn't take with her Ron's anger.

"Daft cow missed the point entirely," he grumbled as he stuck his fork into his dinner. 'And who did she think she was to tell him why Neville left him?

Ron was sure that if he had had the opportunity to tell Neville himself, after he found out the baby wasn't his, then things would've went differently. Neville would never have left and instead of sitting here, alone, he'd be at home, their home, eating dinner with Neville and talking about their day.

He heard another female voice, but instead of the nausea that Rita's voice had brought, this one made Ron feel safe in the way only his family could.

"Ginny!" Ron said, looking up to see his sister smiling at him.

It felt good to hold someone, and Ron reluctantly let Ginny go.

He patted the stool next to him, hoping she'd stay for awhile. Tom brought her pint, looking relieved that Rita and Ron's confrontation hadn't escalated or it could be because Ron had someone else to talk to and he wouldn't have to listen to Ron's problems for the third night in a row.

"Skeeter was here. Bitch. Did you - did you see the article?" Ron asked his voice escalating along with a fresh surge of rage. "It was all lies. Well, most of it anyway. She didn't even bother researching if that slag was telling the truth!"

Ron finished his pint and did two shots of Firewhiskey in a row.

"She brought Neville into it. Said that he didn't leave me because of the article. Said that… oh, yeah, er, Neville left me after the article. Went to France, came home while I was at practice, and cleaned all his things out of the house."

Ron's hand shook as he reached for the fresh pint Tom left on the bar. "I was going to tell him. After I…" He shook his head. "Doesn't matter. He left. Left like he was looking for an excuse to leave. Didn't even give me a chance to make it right."

Ron listened. It hurt and he knew she was right, but it wasn't that simple.

"B-b-but," he stuttered, paused, and took a long, deep breath. "It wasn't infidelity. Not really. I shagged her before I knew how I felt about Neville. At the time, I thought that was all Neville and I were doing… shagging. I never promised not to…" He sighed. "I didn't know then."

He took a long drink and soon was looking at the bottom of the glass. He motioned Tom for another and looked sympathetically at his sister. "I'm sorry. I'm sure you weren't looking for this when you came in here."

Ron squeezed back, resting his chin on her head.

"I tried - to fix it. Tried to stop him from leaving. I wrote him and said how sorry I was. He told me not to contact him anymore." Ron had to stop and swallow a few times to force down the lump in his throat. "He came to the house and took everything. Even that fucking stupid drawing that Adrian gave him… but he left the one that I gave him."

Ron let her go and scrubbed at the stubble along his cheek. He couldn't talk about this anymore, it hurt too damn much.

"I'll be okay. Too bloody young to settle down, anyway. How are you? It's good to see you! I don't see my baby sister all that often!"

"Quidditch!" Now that was something Ron felt like talking about. Well, maybe not his current situation. "That's brilliant. I think you should. Do what you want, Gin. You're a bloody good player and any team would be lucky to have you. Though…" He winked. "I'd rather not be the one playing against you."
