RP: An evening with a Cannon

Kevin strolled into the Leaky Cauldron a few minutes after six. He realised he was humming a little under his breath, somewhat tunelessly. The day had been productive and he was in a very good mood. He still had to write some thank-you notes from Friday’s party, but he could do them when he got home; his work day had gone smoothly indeed.
He had finished reviewing a stack of forms, successfully set up appointments for later in the week (avoiding any after three on Friday), and even maintained a very civil tone in an owl to his counterpart in Zurich who was a complete tosser, but with whom he had to deal.
So he had a feeling of accomplishment as he arrived at the bar and he was very much looking forward to this meeting. Maybe it was a little silly, but he was almost as excited as a young boy about this.
Kevin glanced around but didn't see Ron, so he took a spot at the bar and ordered a pint of his usual. Even the beer tasted better than normal, he was in that good a mood.
