BIALOGARD, POLAND (BNO NEWS) - A Polish police officer was forced to give himself a fine or risk getting a pay cut, a local newspaper reported on Saturday.

The Gazeta Wyborcza newspaper reported that police officers in the northwestern town of Bialogard are required to write at least one fine every day or risk getting a pay cut. When he recently failed to meet the quota, the officer decided to give himself a fine.

The paper said the police officer, who was not identified, handed himself a .50 ticket for walking on a railroad.

These days money is more important for the government than actually hunting criminals it seems. Oo
