Vid rec and Birthday present

Dec 27, 2011 15:15

Some days ago my dear bachaboska finished a "trailer like" fanvid of Thor/Loki, she made for my birthday. What can I say beside that, I ADORE it? I know I've told her many times already but I'll never tire of watching it. The music is perfect and the plot? Wow... simply amazing! Now we just have to wait for someone to write a fic about it ( Read more... )

Honestly? I'd rather have it if they made a movie with Loki as the leading character. He's much more interesting than Thor (not only in the movie, in the Myths as well). That might also spare us Nathalie Portman's presence... Great video by the way. :)

I agree. Loki is the most interesting character and I'm not a big fan of too much heroic characters but I still find Thor's stupidity in the myths really funny.

I must admit that Tom Hiddleston's performance definitely influenced me a little, but either way, Loki's got more interesting stories from what I gathered in the book I'm reading. The whole tête-a-tête with Swadilfari still blows my mind. I find that strangely fascinating (ugh, now I sound like a pervert...). One also has to regard that Loki always finds a way to wind himself out of the mess he makes and that does demand a certain intellect. Thor... I don't know, he just doesn't get me the way Loki does. I also like the whole brood he's whipped up with Angrboda. I don't know that much about Hel and Jörmungand yet, but they had quite some pages on Fenrir. I wish I could study Norse mythology. It's so interesting! Especially the part about the weekdays. Monday for Moonday, Thursday as Thor's day (or Donnerstag (Thunderday) in German), Friday for Freya or Frey ( ... )

I find Norse mythology more interesting than any other. I like the philosophy of it and the fack that they don't hesitate in making their gods look silly when they want to. I haven't read as much as you have yet, my sis took the book I bought, but I'd love if you could make a tumblr. You need to give the link once you have it done. :D
Don't worry, the tale of Sleipnir's origin is my favorite too. I had to read it more than once the first time, because I thought my crazy mind was playing me tricks. But no, the real tale is like that. Strangely similar to a crack fic.

I like both Greek and Norse Mythology, because both their gods are faulty and make mistakes. The stories read so much better than those of the bibel. It's insane. I also love the one where Thor and Loki dress in drag. It proves that there's always been fanfiction. Basically, Snorri and the author of the poetic Edda were crazy fangirls. They just didn't have LiveJournal yet ( ... )

Absolutly, it's the way they look so much like humans, make the same mistakes, have the same feeling that make them really interesting.
How could we (slash fans) not love the tale when they drees in drag? It's epic. I still find hard to beleive they made up a story like that about their gods. Vikings were the first fangirls. XD

Sure! If you need any graphics for you tumblr, let me know. I'll gladly work on them!

About the story of Baldr's death, the one I read did not say that he kicked the drawf for good luck, they didn't give any explaination. I was totally WTF? Know it gets more sense. Still really funny though.
