EDIT: Coward.
Petty, small coward.
The good news is that my food'll last a bit longer. I'm not that hungry any more.
The house I'm staying in tonight is freaking me out a little. Maybe its proximity to the church has something to do with it - but with the doors sometimes leading us to other places, isn't everywhere right next to the church? In any case, the slightly amplified voices in my head aren't what's making my hair stand on end. It's what was left behind by whoever used to live here.
They left behind everything, except food of course. There are family albums, sports trophies, unpaid bills (printed on paper - they still did that here?), and even a rat cage. That mouse was living in luxury. I think it was a mouse, anyway. Right now, it's just a...lump. It makes me want to find out what happened here, almost more than anything else.
One thing's for sure - I can't sleep. I tried reading from the poetry book here, but it's had the opposite effect poetry usually has on me and I will definitely be up all night. Reading this particular poem I found helps me drown out the church's voices with my own, so tonight won't be totally restless. I thought it could help the other people stuck here, so I typed it out:
