So yesterday my sister, her husband, my best friend, and I took a road trip to Covington, KY to go to a Christian Kane concert. Okay, so it was actually a Randy Houser concert and Christian was the second act, but we were going for Christian. Now my sister and I do like Randy Houser, but my friend had no clue who he is, and the brother-in-law had to be told what he sang. And Toby sings one of Randy's songs karaoke (he has a fantastic voice). It took us about 7 hours to get here because we took several pit stops. But we made it, and stopped for Mardi Gras beads to wear to the concert for The House Rules. We went to the venue about an hour before the doors opened, and there were already people in line. When they finally let us in, I went straight for the stage, and we made it up front. Yay! The first act was pretty good, but I can't remember their name. Then we had to wait for them to clear their stuff out, and Christian's people to set up theirs. Then they came out and played! Awesome!!!! And you can tell he loves his fans. Between songs he made sure to say thanks when we cheered. And there was lots of cheering going on. They cut him off one song early, but he came back to sign autographs a little while later. We had bought second copies of his cds so he would have something to sign when we weren't sure if he was gonna come back (but we wanted to make sure we had something). We made it through the line, and when we got up to him, I was blushing like crazy!! I get starstruck. But he signed my cd, and personalized it!!!! And he was taking pics with the fans. My sister told him how long it took us to get there, and that it was our friend's first concert ever and that she had really wanted to hear Making Circles because it makes her giggle when he sings, "You know we're gonna fuck it up", so would he sing or say that line for her. He made Gina get up there in front of him (she's not shy except when it comes to celebrities), and then he sang almost the entire chorus for us!!!!! That was soo awesome! He cut up and joked with us, and I am even more in love with that man than I was!!! Christian Kane, you are truly awesome, man, and I have lots of respect for an artist who treats his fans like you do.
fangirl moment,
