Woooo! The day before yesterday was probably one of the best days of my life!!! Finally I got to watch The Click Five perform LIVE at Ministry of Sound! xDDDDD
And I'm telling you, it was AWESOME! (For lack of a better word.) Too bad I didn't have anyone to go with :( (anyone that shared my craze, anyway.) It was simply an amazing and magical night, man! It was worth every nerve-wrecking minute of waiting outside!
The day started off not-too-well, especially when I felt my smile slipping off my face when I caught a glimpse of the queue outside MOS while I was still in the car. It was...well, long. Really long. Not as bad as the queue for Harry Potter book 7, but still. I imagine some of those fans must have been waiting since 4. o_O
Anyway, daddy went with me to queue up at around 6.30 and we ate macs while standing in the queue. Before that it was a mad rush for food in the nearest shopping centre. Boy, am I glad I had daddy to wait with me haha. THANKS DADDY!!! xD
But things started going horribly wrong after that. I was happily queuing when suddenly I left the queue to join another one which turned out to be the queue for 987FM winners. So I could have actually gone in earlier!! Damn. But it was okay in the end cos i still got in. Heh.
I saw some merch being sold, then made my way in and tried to wriggle around to get the nearest possible view. No such luck. There was a speaker and something else blocking me. I cursed. Then my luck changed and I moved nearer to the stage. I could see the drum set, which was SHINY and RED, and also the keyboard. I forgot if there were guitars there already. Probably not.
Then after a few minutes, the Muttons came out! They said some stuff and played this game where three fans were called up on stage to win a Gibson Hummingbird acoustic guitar, autographed by all 5 members of The Click Five! (I sound like I'm in some commercial.) Anyways...
Finally the moment of truth. Lots of red smoke. I armed myself with my camera, cursing myself for not shutting off the flash BEFORE I entered. I attempted to take a few shots but got a screen full of smoke. Okay.
And they...THEY CAME!!! (Or rather...THE SMOKE CLEARED!) And immediately launched into Addicted To Me! Which is their fave song from their newest album, Modern Minds and Pastimes, apparently. I initially didn't like that song much, but now I think it's kind of catchy. And what a way to kick off the awesome, totally rockin' night! Everyone was singing along and putting their hands up in the air! I was filming and tiptoeing to get a good view. I almost toppled over forwards. And in the middle I cleverly tried to tilt the camera to get Kyle's entire body, but it was a mistake.
Following Addicted To Me was the catchy, infectious Flipside! Then it was Happy Birthday! Then things slowed down and got all serious with Empty, which was going to be put in their next video! Is that cool or what? As usual, Kyle went all emotional and stuff. Too bad my arm was aching too much to hold up my camera, if not I would surely film his intepretative (drunk) dance during the guitar solo of Empty.
After Empty, Kyle said a few words.
"We had such a good time, Singapore.
Such a good time.
So, Singapore...
ARE WE READY TO ROCK RIGHT NOW??!! (He said it like he was a politician campaigning, not exactly Gerard Way-style (i.e. roaring and screaming.)
Here we go!
Give it up for JOE GUESE!!!"
Anddd they launched into When I'm Gone! Which totally rocked!! It is such a good feeling to be there watching them perform live, you know, in person and everything. And I was singing along! (Mouthing the words, anyway.) And it's so different to actually see them in front of you, 3D, instead of watching other peoples' vids. They are all so tall and handsome in person!
Where I was standing, I couldn't really film all of the band, only Kyle and Ben (who was the closest) and brief appearances by Ethan and Joe. I didn't get to see Joey at all ): Such a pity. My arm was already beginning to hurt from stretching forwards. But was I tired? Nooo...
Okay anyway, after that was Jenny! Filming became impossible, what with me being squeezed and jostled about from right and left. So I just enjoyed the song.
After that, I THINK somewhere in between they played Good Day, but since it was from the pre-Kyle Patrick era, I didn't film it. *shrugs*
THEN THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT...HEADLIGHT DISCO!!!! WOOO! It was amazing. Kyle was highly entertaining with his theatrical performance, as always. I always love his theatrics and every little thing he does when singing, no matter how weird. I especially heart those spasms he does when singing "I'm gonna MAKE YOU COME TO A..." Like he's about to throw a baseball.
The disco ball was spinning and shining even more than before during that song. Or it could be my imagination. Hmm. But really fitting for the song.
And in the middle of the song, K Pat the Politician had more to say:
"Okay Singapore.
I have one last request before we go. *pause for effect* (or more like he was running out of breath.)
Are you with me, Singapore? *wait for screams to die off*
I wanna see. *pause again*
EVERYBODY.
In the Ministry of Sound. (Well, duh.)
JUMPIN'
as high as they can jump.
mumblemumble jumping...
ARE YOU READY???!!
HERE WE GO!!! *everybody goes crazy*"
Then my video went black as I, too, was jumping. I mean, how can you say no to K Pat's Last Request?
*coughexcept for some zombies who refused to jump or singalong or even MOVE for that mattercough*
Talk about ending with a BANG! But that was not the end, no, not even close!
The Muttons came out again and brought The Click Five back on stage! Thus began the Fan Appreciation! (sort of). They replayed snippets of fans singing to win tickets and they got to go on stage to shake hands with all of them! And they gave their precious guitar away!
And then it was the autograph session. I got lost on the way as I got distracted when fiddling with my camera and realised too late that I was walking in the wrong direction. I finally found my way and joined another long queue. Sigh.
Then THE TIME HAD COME. *GASP!* I was nearer and nearer to meeting them in person. Daddy found me hehe. And got chased out on the way. Poor thing. And I almost got a heart attack when I asked how much the poster they were selling near the entrance was and they told me it was twenty bucks. Jesus!
And my breath nearly stopped when I found myself next-in-line, about to get my CD sleeve signed. I mentally rehearsed my speech, planning to tell K Pat that he had "mad skillz". But of course, none of that happened.
In reality:
K Pat, taking my CD cover and signing: Hi.
Me: Hi. Uhh...can I - can I take a picture? *"Mustering every ounce of confidence I have...For you I will..."*
K Pat: Yeah.
Me: *takes picture of him looking down and signing another CD cover*
Me: (thinking) that's it? no hand shake?
Then I think I shook Joey's hand. Or Joe's. I was in a state of shock. Ben smiled at me. Ethan was as stone as K Pat.
And with that, my magical night came to a close. Woo!
EDIT: Ok, so maybe I can't complain about K Pat and the others being all zombified while autographing my CD cover, as I was somewhere at the back of the queue. But hey, it's my fault meh??!! You think very easy to get to the front issit? Sheesh. I heard that people at the front got smiles and handshakes from everyone. Pfft.
