Every now and then I fall apart
I have things! Things that I have forgotten to post! So, here's some catch up!
Thing #1: (which I am most excited about) I applied for this job yesterday. I know it's a super long shot because I'm sure there are a billion librarians who are actually in the Irvine area that would want it, but what a dream job. I had to apply. There's also this job and this job that look super cool as well, and I should probably apply for all three, but mostly it's just nice to know that occasionally Blizzard has job openings that I have even a remote chance of qualifying for. I would also LOVE to write and/or study lore for Blizzard, OMG. But yeah, it's a long shot.
Thing #2: I forgot to blog about this last time, but last weekend we officially celebrated kelbellene's birthday. There was Rock Band and pizza and new people and lots of fun. I got to wear my new Lost long-sleeved t-shirt.
Thing #3: Friday was Rick's last day at his old job. So, after work we went to the bar in the mall and got a little drunk. It was pretty fun. We've gotten to the point where I know enough of Rick's work friends to have a pretty good time at any work gathering of his. The funny part was, at least half of his "work friends" have already quit, so they don't technically work with him anymore, but they still come to the party. Anyway, it was fun.
Thing #4: Part 1: I don't even know what happened to yesterday, it went by so damn fast. We woke up and screwed around for a bit. Rick has been kind of on again/off again sick, so he called and made a doctor's appointment for 11:45. I dropped him off and went to Target to buy snacks for book discussion. We went to book discussion at 2:00, then stopped off at the Re-Store. I love that place. Rick had a haircut appointment at 4:00 and we had to pick up his car at the mall, so we went there and did a little shopping. We stopped in at Games and More (which is also an awesome store) and got Rick some shoes at Younkers. While he got his haircut, I bought What the Dead Know by Laura Lippman and read in a comfy chair. Then we came home again for a bit.
Thing #4: Part 2: (This paragraph was getting waaay too long.) At 8:00 we met drewmg, kelbellene, celtic_catgirl, and christopher00 at Taki for dinner. I have to say, I do prefer the sushi at Miyabi 9. But I did my first ever saki bombs, and while they were nasty, it was an experience I did want to have eventually. :o) After dinner we went to The Game, where there was karaoke. We got to watch drewmg and kelbellene sing "Love is a Battlefield" and "Total Eclipse of the Heart", and celtic_catgirl did 2 musical songs (one from Grease and one from Rocky Horror). We *almost* closed the bar, leaving at little after 1:00. That's the closest we've come to closing a bar in quite a while. Then we came home and slept. I got up at 10, Rick is still sleeping. We have no real plans for today.
