kisses. i fall asleep, dreaming
of you laying here beside me
all wrapped up under my blanket
as i watch from across my bed,
pushing hair away from your eyes
and lining your lips with my stare.

i disappear into wonder
losing myself in wishes once
forgotten but now rushing full
force knocking reality down
and crashing over silly fears

and here i am, still on the bed
still watching you and wondering
if i will ever get that chance
to just bite the bullet and kiss you.

still, i would trade in my chances
for a night with your breath against
the back of my neck and the feel
of your heart beating beside me.
