I'm getting married in 22 days.

22 DAYS!

In 22 days, I will no longer be just plain old Julie Berk.
In 22 days, I will be Mrs. Steven O'Neal. Julie O'Neal (which I have to admit, has a GREAT ring to it and I've been practicing signing my name 'Julie O'Neal' for about the last year and a half, which is about 10 months longer than I've actually been engaged.)

Just so it's clear, I'm not freaking out or getting cold feet, it's just really hit me i the last few days that I'm getting MARRIED. I'm gonna be someone's old lady.

Do I have to buy a minivan now and join the soccer mom's club?
And how do I get my name changed? Do I have to go and apply for a whole new social security card? Do I have to start putting my "Julie Berk" name on job applications in the place where it asks if you've ever worked under a different name? Is that my alias now?

Do I have to get a new nursing license? Driver's license? Is my job going to make me pay for a new name tag because I want my married name on it? Why should I have to pay 8 bucks for a new nametag? I just spent 6 grand on a freaking wedding, can't they spot me the 8 bucks?

Will my bank still let me deposit checks made out to Julie Berk if I change my name? Am I still going to have to tell people how to spell my last name? Just as they assumed it was b-u-r-k-e, are they going to bypass O'Neal and go straight for o-n-e-i-l-l? Are they going to start making Irish jokes at me?

Am I late for work? Oh, crap. Yeah, I am.

By the way, these aren't random rhetorical questions. If anyone has any real answers, please don't hesitate to share them.

even steven, personal
