Why I Hate my Job
So.
This is why I hate my job:
PEOPLE KEEP TATTLING ON ME!
I swear. Last week, I was pulled into the office no less than 3 times (twice in the same day) because people can't get over the fact that I won't do their jobs for them.
I have no problem being a team player whatsoever, but when people start walking away and leaving me with all the work, I can't help but take it personally and become a little upset.
Then, on Wednesday night, we had a staff meeting because Diane (one of our nurse practitioners) was bitching because she had 4 patients checked in (all at the same time) and none of them were in rooms (because 2 of them were together and already being triaged and the other two were waiting for insurance stuff). So Theresa thought it would be great fun to hold a meeting at 5pm. Two problems with this:
-That means I have to stay late, even though I get paid extra.
-The 5 pm meeting didn't start till 5:45.
Granted, I got paid for it, it still didn't make up for the fact that we all got chewed out and had to listen to her making suggestions to solve a problem that WASN'T OUR FAULT AND COULDN'T BE SOLVED ANYWAY!
So, the following day after lunch, Maria (the 'head nurse' who isn't actually a nurse) came up to me and said that, per Theresa, the meeting was supposed to be about positivity (no, it was supposed to be about how NOT to piss off an already flustered provider) and my attitude was very negative and if she notices any more negativity from me, she's allowed to send me home without pay. I made some lame attempted of defending myself, like, "If I come off as negative, that's not the intent, I'm just a naturally sarcastic person and sometimes I can't help it." To which she replied, "Well, that's something you need to work on. That's part of communication and how we grow."
Granted, but now I'm supposed to change my whole personality or I get sent home without pay?
And that's supposed to make me feel better and come back happier the next day?
No, no, no. If you want me to improve my attitude, send me home WITH pay, then I'll come back tomorrow morning happy as a clam!!
Anyway, I really hate my job and really want a new one.
