Tom Riddle was the birth name of Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter series. Courtney (Tom's owner and a friend of my sister's) happens to be a Harry Potter freak...like me and the rest of my family. And he's a siamese, so yes, he does look a little platypi-esque.
And funny you should mention Tom Collins...
Not only is it a drink, it's also a character from Rent (something me, my sister, and Courtney are also crazy about).
