More information!!

Okay, so through the grape vine I have heard little rumors once again that the awards we handed out this past weekend have been accused of the ever famous "cult" voting. Which most of you know that you will never get away from. I have tried a million different ways to get around it, and the truth of the matter is that this past round we only had 19 people actually cast votes in each category. When you take the fact that most categories had more than 10 people nominated, you can see where it becomes a win by one vote type deal.

Now take into account that some people despite the fact that I politely asked you all to vote with the numbers still voted soley by name. Which in my opinion states that you didn't read the passages, you simply saw a name you were familiar with and cast your vote. Especially since some of the categories those people you voted for in name only were nominated more than once. So I opted to disqualify anyone that didn't follow my instructions for voting, since in most instances I couldn't tell which post you were voting for anyway.

Now if for those of you who still doubt that I counted the votes accurately... you know all 19 of them feel free to comment here. All comments are screened to protect your identity, and I will gladly screencap the results and email them to you. I was going to just post them up, but then I realized the entire reason I keep the results private is so that no one's feelings are hurt if they did not get any votes. That is not the kind of message I want to convey. I want everyone to be proud that they were even nominated.

Now, in light of all of this negativity I am moving forward. I am not going to let a few nay-sayers drag this place down. However a few of the members have asked about one on one groups, and about smaller games and such. So here is what we are going to do!

As it stands now, communities have about two weeks to gather their nominations and get all this done. Then they have two weeks to cast their votes. The thing is that even though we have 80 plus members we still only get about an eight of that actually voting. I figure this is because you all have so much to read that most look at it and go... naw I don't want to vote. So now I want to give you all more time to vote, and more time to prepare to get your nominations up.

We are staying Monthly. We are keeping the format. We are keeping everything pretty much the same around here. I know how much you all hate change, so I am not changing anything about our methods. All I am doing is changing the timetable in a manner of sorts.

Here is how it is going to work. I am going to lay out the timetable first and then explain how it will work so you all can rant and rave and riot in the streets or whatever you want to do.

March - One on One Games
April - Small Scale Games
May - Grand Scale Games
June - One on One Games
July - Small Scale Games
August - Grand Scale Games
September - One on One Games
October - Small Scale Games
November - Grand Scale Games
December - ALL CHARACTER Nominations for Year End

Now I hope you can all see what I am trying to do here. By seperating the form of game the smaller games no longer have to compete against the games with a billion members, so rather than worrying that your smaller game will lose to "cult" voting, you can just hang tight and enjoy the reading and vote with your brain, not your friends. Let the big games compete against each other, since so to speak they are more like big-budget films and the smaller games are more independant films anyway.

So with that being said I am going to clear off the nomination posts in the josscar_noms, and I will set up the categories and rules for One on One games. My only qualm is that those of you that have One on One games have so many of them, that I am trying to think of a safe limit for actor and actress nominations. I would love feedback on this, since it would be you competing against yourself, and if you have more than 3 one on one games with one character journal, let me know if you think 3 nominations is enough for you. Personaly I think 3 is a nice safe number. There will be some splitting of the actor//actress categories, since One on One's tend to go a bit OUT of the boundaries of normal game play.

I will be splitting categories up, for Slash and Het pairings, as well as a seperate group for Non-Shipping One on One's because believe it or not, they are out there. I am in one or two!

Now I also in light of all the cheating and name calling I have decided to "out" myself as the head mod of this place, although most of you knew it already.

I am the head mod of this game, lollobrigida is my personal LJ, attack me if you want, I really don't care. I run this section of the community, and the other mods that I have run the weekly section, or help me with vote tally, rounding up the nominations and anything else that I need help on.

So there you have it. Everything laid out on the table, like it or leave it, I am not going to be hurt if you still want to leave. I mainly made this place, because I see a lot of great writing, and great plot and storylines, and well you can't read everything, so why not read what the games want you to read right?

If you made it to the end of this ramble? Thanks!
