New Turn for Josscars...
Well everyone I have been doing an awful lot of thinking. For numerous reasons. Now before I launch this, I want you to know how much I appreciate what you all have been doing to keep this place so successful. THe voter turnout was great. The overall support of all the players has been inspiring, and even with all the changes that we made in the past month, many of you have stuck by us.
However, once again my brain was turning. Mostly because I was trying to think of how fair it would be to base an award on a sample of someone's writing. At that a small sample. So I thought it over and was just going to run with it... but the more I thought about it.. the more it was unsettling to me.
As a player I didn't want to be judged based on a small section of my writing, and I am sure some of you agreed with that.
Here is something else that was bothering me. The recent EXPLOSION of RPG Award communities in the past month. I felt like we were going to be oversaturating the RPG World with yet another round of Best Buffy, and Best Angel.
I wanted to step away from that. I wanted to make The Josscars what it set out to be.. different.. unique.
So here is my solution.
First of all, I am SOOO appreciative of everyone that has gone to all the work of digging through your posts and submitting your nominations, we love you all for doing that, but it was just getting to feel like, there wasn't going to be enough to make it work the way we hoped.
So... good-bye to that idea. It was an interesting thought, but overall I don't think it was going to have the follow-through we wanted.
Now, onto the new idea.... which I personally am VERY excited for!
We are looking for the actual games to nominate their fellow players.
Think of it like this... the game that you are in? It is a movie. You Love the game you are in.. you LOVE the players, so treat your game like a movie. Who is the main female, who is the main male, who are your supporting roles.. right now.. in your game.
The beauty of this is, that your game//movie is ever evolving. Plots change, twists occur and your characters step in where they are needed. Here is our hopes...
Each Moderator of a RPG Game based in the Buffy/Angel Universe will post a Members only post in their OOC with the list of categories open. Members of your game will discuss who to nominate, and what posts to submit. Then your moderator will submit the posts//character nominations to the appropriate categories.
I truly think this will set us apart from the other RPG Award communities and will be something that you all will enjoy, and *fingers crossed* participate in!!
