Hey everyone, since the voting is underway, We thought now would be a good time to start letting you know about a few changes we are making to the community. We figured we would get this information to you now, so that if there are any questions or concerns they could be addressed before the next round.

Okay, here is my take on things.

1. People were already trying to get the people who nominated them to change the example post they used. That was crap and angered me, so this new way eliminates that problem.
2. We're hoping the new way eliminates favoritism. I can tell you right now by looking at who's voting that pretty much everyone is voting for a friend or someone they RP with. Now I can't say for sure that they're just basing their vote on favoritism, because I do not know what these people are thinking when they vote. I personally feel a few people that I RP with are the best, but I also voted for others whom I have never heard of before. So hopefully this will provide a means to make the vote more fair.
3. Withdrawing a nomination is lame and a pain in the rear for us. You should feel good about being nommed. Someone out there thinks you're great and they want everyone else to see it. Pulling out of the vote not only throws it back in the face of the person that nommed you, but accomplishes nothing. By being able to nom yourself, we the mods don't have to worry about going back last minute to change things.

And finally, if you have issues with award comms, why are you here in the first place? We have done nothing but bust our butts trying to make this place fun and fair. We're not responsible for everyone else out there showing favoritism, so don't blame us. You complain about the favoritism and shadiness elsewhere, we're trying out new ways to stop it. So if you disagree with how we're running things, please leave.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. I really like this nifty community you have going here. The changes look like a great idea, I can't speak for everyone else but I will stay.
