Josscar Information

Dec 01, 2004 01:19

First off I want to let you all know that the nominations for this Innagural Round of The Josscars have closed, and we want to thank everyone, for all their help in getting this place off the ground. With that said, the posts have all been posted with all the samples of peoples RPG skills, and from now until the 15th of December we encourage you to read as many of the samples as you can. Each post has the comments set to screened, so if you feel like making notations, or general comments for your own sake feel free to.

The actual voting will be a form ballot, open only to members. The reason we are doing it this way is so that we can simply click on the voter's username and verify that they have only voted once. We can also track IP addresses if things get out of control, and will be able to provide lists of voters if anyone wishes to argue any result once the votes are tabulated.

Voting Will Close on December 29th, 2004, and we will begin our counts.
Votes will be tallied by three seperate parties and then announced on December 31st.
A new round will open up, as soon as we can get all the posts up for the characters.

Now that all of that business is out of the way, we would like to address a few topics that we feel is unfortunate that it occurred so close to our first round beginning. We here all understand that we all enjoy playing our respective games, and that there is always some sort of conflict going on in our own lives, online or in the real world. A fellow Awards Community closed it's doors this week, for their own reasons. While we understand the stance that they made, and will not say anything negative about their choice I would like to say that we have put a lot of work into this community over the past two months, and are not about to let it go to the wayside.

We also hope that you will see us as fair, and honest. Places like these have a lot of responsibility attached to them, and we want you all to support this place rather than condemn it. It is unfortunate that everything had to go to such extremes however tomorrow is a new day, and we must go on. So we shall.

We will try to keep this place as open to suggestions, and comments as we can. We will not allow personal drama, nor petty bickering to take place. The reason we are running it the way we are is so that everyone can enjoy and recognize many people's writing.

There is no first second or third placings here, it is just whoever's writing sample stood out for that round. There will be no words such as Best, or First placed on the winners Banners, because those are subjective words. It will simply be a Josscars Choice Award of sorts. We encourage people to use the banners we provide, however they will be simple and uniform aside from the image used.

Anyone that feels like being more creative with their banner I encourage it. As a graphics maker I think experimenting on a large format is a good thing, and sparks creativity not usually found when working on icons day in and day out.

I have said all that we really wanted to express to everyone, and hope that this place keeps up the strong positive environment that we have set out to create.

Good luck to all the nominees!!

Now, get to reading!!
