*breaking news*

First and foremost, I want to give a huge shoutout to Stephen for ressurecting the PC I bought off of him. It's risen like a phoenix and I'm back to full working, net browsing, DVD burning capacity. I just gotta iron out some sound card ishs but other than that it feels damn amazing to be able to blog again, check email, all the little things I did feverishly on a regular basis that I took for granted. It was the apitimy of suck having the internet in the house, but not being used for it's primary purpose. Sure I had it hooked up to my Xbox 360 so I can roll with my hommies at work, but I wanted it so I can stay on top of things at work and such, now I'm back and I'll never take it all like it should have been there. April, May, June, July, August, September, October......7 months? Geezus, THAT was going back to the darkages.

In other news, Gears of War is by far the most graphically intensive thing I've ever seen (PC or Console) since the Metal Gear Solid 4 trailers, and on that note, I have one thing to say:

Sony is fucked. All the stuff they had at conference didn't even COMPARE to what Gears is doing right now on the 360. Like Doom 3 when it first came out, it had amazing graphics and GAMEPLAY to match.

There is so much stuff going on screen when you're playing this thing it is unreal (hence where the engine gets it's namesake), and it runs like water....including this chapter I'm in right now where it's raining and the effects of the water going off the objects is insane. I thought Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (which was using a very early build of Unreal Engine 3) did a pheonominal job, this blows it away a tenfold.

Enough geeky talk, the game rules. Control scheme is very similar to Resident Evil 4, so people will feel almost instantly at home with it. The gameplay is excellent, controls are tight, and the action pacing is perfect....on par with Halo 2 and Half-Life 2. It only slows down enough for you to catch your breath, and then throws you headfirst into another firefight. Oh yeah, and you CANNOT play this like Halo or any other run and gun game, you will die in oh like............0.000001 of a second, and this is one the "Easy" difficulty too. Take like, Call of Duty 2 on Veteran, this is the kind of hardcore 3rd person shooter this is.

So far the game is flawless, I have no complaints, and so far it has everything I could ask out of it. I haven't touched the multiplayer yet, I want to finish the capaign first, but rest assured I want to do some major curb stomping and get some serious use out of the chainsaw bayonette. No Co-Op either, I promised Adam I'd do that with him, once Cox stops being gay and turns his internet back on. My chainsaw is at the ready, Adam! Just say the word!

In other other news, work releated, the #3 guy (Bill Chinn), #4 gal (Margerite Garvey), and #5 gal were (Betty Shock) were supposed to be about and about all over the east coast touring stores in preperation for the upcoming holiday season, and as Bill says (since he is the Vice President of Stores after all) "This is the most important Christmas in our company's history" it's especially true with this first full year the 360 will be in full supply, the launch of the Nintendo Wii (heeeeeeeeeellz yes) and the Phoney Gaystation 3 (aka the really expensive DVD player). He was supposed to be in the area on Thursday and I decided to postpone my days off until he was cleared out of town, you know cuz I didn't want my peeps to be there alone should the trio show up, and amazingly enough the COO, CEO, and Prez green lighted him to use the company jet on this tour, so this is some hot button issues. Normally Bill just gets in a rental car from whatever airport he flies in and nobody hears from him until he leaves.

So what happened? Turns out he went to New York area of the Northeast Division first......and never got beyond that. They were in even worse shape than the DC/Baltimore area stores. Not to say my store has gone to shit, it has seen better days, and it is most definetly frayed around the edges. We've had such a huge spike in business over the summer that we didn't have enough manpower to take it head on, and it's continuing. We only now just got enough payroll to take on one more person, Chris Yost (a friend of Adam) and now we're making slow headway. I'm terribly disappointed that Bill didn't get to finish his adjenda, but at the same time I'm glad he didn't make it to my place. I would have died of embarassment if he waltzed in and it looked the way it did. Sooo, he who fights and runs away gets to fight another day.

Wooo, enough! I would go play some more Gears, but that's what I've been doing all day and I need to get at least some sleep before I go in tomorrow. With Gears being released and everything in full swing it's gonna be one heavy duty weekend.
