11 and a half hours is a looooooooong day. I've worked that long before... and I do farm labor! (eeeeek everyone run and wash your produce...again!) j/k... hope ya get some relax time! :) Happy 4th (a lil late) :)
what kind of farm labor do you do? Just interested. There are farms all around here in NC. Yeah, 11 1/2 hours IS a long day if you're doing farm labor. For me it's just boredom. I just answer phones etc. This is the first job that I've had where it's REALLY A PIE JOB!
I help pack potatoes (which is the farm's biggest locally grown crop) I help operate the bagging machine and the sewing machine that sews the potato bags closed. I also help boz other produce like cabbage, cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes to get them ready for shipping. I also help get together order for local stores, farmers markets, and restaurants (like if they want a case of lettice, halfa case of peppers, box of cabbage etc, etc.) and I help plat on accasion. I had to help sit on the planter and plant cabbage and I had to help pick strawberries. It's hard on your back and legs but I am not planning on doing this for the rest of my life... it's just a temporary thing... I'm hoping to either start night school or after I get married for us to move and take over managing one of my parent's restaurants. It gets boring at the farm too. Packing potatoes for 8 or 9 hours gets boring a repetitive... I usually have my headphones on blasting Tori. :) Everyone's stopped asking me things when I am helping pack because I never hear them. :)
I can't type and smoke at all... sorry for all of the spelling errors in that last post... things like "boz" was supposed to be box and I can spell lettuce, I swear. and that was plant, not "plat". I am such a tard. :) hehe I suppose I can wear the typo-queen crown tonight.
