Technically, it's not con yet, but at the moment I'm en route to Seattle and will probably arrive within two hours if the traffic cooperates. We'll be there too late to get our badges today, so we'll have to get them tomorrow. I'll probably be staying with the cosplay group for most of the con, which I'm looking forward to.
There was a bit of an argh when packing - initially, I couldn't find the trousers I wear for Moriarty. I looked everywhere, and then in my closet, which was where they were. Derp. I'm pretty sure I haven't forgot anything too crucial. If I have, I don't know about it.
I'm very sleepy today. Probably because I was up until two a.m. working on a bag for the con - I have been continually frustrated by the lack of suitable carrying-around-con bags, and decided to remedy this. The bag's about a foot by a foot by a foot, roughly cubical, made of olive green canvas, with two long straps. It's got a zippered pocket at the bottom which I am damn proud of :D. Zippers are troublesome. The tiredness could also be because the fist track meet of the season was today. It was pouring rain/hail/sleet for the first bit, and it was bitterly cold throughout, which was bothersome, and I placed last in both of the events I ran in, which I was not pleased by. I wasn't exactly expecting any different, though - I'm not the fastest of runners. It might just be nap time for me, so I'll have at least some energy for the con.
Con is probably going to be exhausting. They usually are. I'm super excited for the masquerade ball on Friday evening - the last one I went to, I had a total blast. Jim's much better at being social and flirting with people than I am. Also, it will be an excuse (not like I need one) to be close to my girlfriend (who is J), which is always, always a plus.
Looking out the window, I can see a full rainbow. There've been a lot of rainbows recently. I'm quite fond of rainbows. They're pretty and colourful and they're supposed to mean hope or a promise for a better future or something like that.
The light from the setting sun makes the trees bright yellow-green, which, in combination with the dark grey clouds, looks very odd.
Rainbows are amazing. Light and water - that's all a rainbow is. And yet, when they appear, they seem like miracles.
I'll shut up now.
