fridays means movies

I'm debating wether to watch Watchmen today.  It's still early, so I can go either way.  I have been thinking about X-men: Origins: Wolverine though.  Btw, can that movie have more titles?  Anyway, as much as I loved The Dark Knight and Batman Begins and as much as I adore Christian Bale, he's not the Bruce Wayne/Batman I always invisioned (Michael Keaton is actually closer with the black hair and blue eyes though Bale wins with the good looks and the playboy aspect- they're pretty even with the looking intense and half-crazy.  No, maybe Keaton wins the crazy too)  My point is that movie casting for comic books is always, shall we say, not the best?  But Wolverine and Logan and HUGH JACKMAN?  I am in awe!  I haven't really followed the X-men movies because they seemed to depart greatly from the X-men I remember from the Animated Series.  Maybe it's my loss, I don't know.  I only vaguely remember the previews and have seen some fanvids, so the portrayals of the characters might be closer than I give them credit for.  That's beside the point because I think they really got it right with this new movie coming out.  See for yourself:


   


Amazing, right?  And I mean the similarities, not just those arms!  Or shoulders!  Or that stomach!  Guh!  I can't wait for this one.

ETA:  You know what I just thought of, Logan is supposed to be a short, hairy man, so maybe they didn't get it all that right either, but I am willing to forgive them thanks to Mr. Jackman just like I was willing to forgive DC for giving us Bale!Bruce. C'est la vie...
