perpetual reputation

it seems that the reputation you have gained willingly and unwillingly from high school, still stands true in so many people's minds, even if you aren't that same person. people think that who you were back then is still who you are today which unfortunately can just be plain unfair. maybe its the inability to properly represent yourself to others or maybe its the inability of others to accept who you have become. either way, there's the frustration that no one understands you completely.

being in your 20s sure does throw you countless curve balls; finding more and more about what you need, want, like, dislike, adamantly agree with or what you strongly disagree with. you find that you even surprise yourself let alone other people, but you begin to become comfortable with your own skin and just hope that others in your life will too.

so having said all that, let me break it down..

i am different from the person i once was in high school. i say this not bitterly but just as many people could probably say the same. do not limit a person's character to the perpetual reputation you have them pegged to in your mind. there's always more than meets the eye.

like a friend once said...a conch shell, imperfect and rough on the outside and deceivingly insignificant but if appreciated inside and out, it can blow you away.

thank you for the conch shell. =)
