Seeing as the holiday season is rapidly approaching and I have something to put in my journal other than the usual, I've decided to update!
Let's see if anybody reads...
Well, it's been quite awhile and the normal has been happening around home. There have been too many late nights to count with some of my favorite people and random mischeif that we can't get enough of. I love my commons west girlies and pimps-they make everything great!
Last weekend I went to my first ever Indian Garba. I loved it! The dancing was so much fun and easy to learn and the costumes were incredible. I also went to Friday Night Live, (a fun day for UIC students) where I got a caricature done, made a cd case, and stole some awesome lawn flamingos! His name is in progress.
One late night a bunch of us insomniacs were gathered in a dorm, and somehow it came up that one of the girls had the game Dirty Minds in her room! Most people had never played, so it was HIlarious seeing their reactions as the clues were read.
I can honestly say that I have never laughed so hard in my life.
This was awhile ago, but Jacqueline and I succeeded in putting the couch in the elevator, which was stolen. So I took the 4th floor's rug as collateral. Then the couch was returned a couple of weeks later, and all was right with the world.
My new favorite sport is sumo wrestling. We played in the dorm halls a couple of nights, and it was classic. One person held this huge bean bag chair, while the other used a body pillow. Then they would smash into eachother. Yes, I obviously participated.
There has been so much that I can't remember...but it doesn't mean that it wasn't special!
And now that Thanksgiving is coming, I would like to do the whole "saying what I'm thankful for" deal.
I'll start with the obvious. I'm thankful for family and friends. I'm thankful for God, and the impact he's had on my life and the strength and love he's selflessly given me. I'm very thankful for this opportunity to go to college and make others proud, while proving to myself that I can accomplish this. I'm thankful for all of the fun that I've been having, and for being able to enjoy my life. I'm thankful for all of those people who are close to me that have been there when I needed them most. I'm thankful for my dad, and even though he's still in pain, I'm glad that he's gotten much better, and I'm VERY thankful that it didn't turn out worse than it did. I'm thankful for all the memories I have of the good ole times with old friends. Most of all, I'm thankful to be alive.
