Runaways Guest Appearance in Daken Next Week!

The Runaways will be guest starring in next week's issue of Daken: Dark Wolverine #17. The preview has come out but they aren't in it.

"PRIDE COMES BEFORE IT" PART 2
GUEST-STARRING THE RUNAWAYS! Daken's Hollywood
empire has been ripped to pieces and, with his healing factor still damaged, he's desperate and running for his life. The Pride appears to have returned to Los Angeles, but who’s gotten the band back together?

They should show up at some point in this issue, hopefully not in a last page cliffhanger. To be honest I haven't really been following this book so I'm not entirely sure what's going on or how this is going to lead to a new Pride (or a resurrection of the old one), so I'd really appreciate it if anyone can fill me in.

And in case you didn't hear, after this arc in Daken the Runaways will guest star in a two issue arc of Avengers Academy.

Last month Christos Gage said some noteworthy things about the two issue arc in an interview.

Nrama: When the story picks up in March with issue #27, will the Runaways be pretty much the same - both in terms of group members and general status quo - from what fans will recognize from their last few appearances, or should some tweaks be expected?

Gage: They’ll be pretty much as they were in the final issues of their own book. They ain’t broke, so I’m not gonna fix ‘em. Well, there’s one thing I think is not quite right, and that’ll be addressed in the story. And for a bit of a link to the past, David Lafuente, who used to be the RUNAWAYS cover artist, is doing our covers for these two issues!
Nrama: Speaking of recent appearances, the Runaways are currently embarking on a guest spot in Daken. How closely does the Avengers Academy arc follow from what happens there? Clearly, the west coast is becoming an increasingly busy place on the Marvel map.

Gage: The Avengers Academy appearance follows pretty closely, and Rob Williams and I have been in touch to make sure there’s proper coordination. But you don’t need to read one story to follow the other. It’s not a direct continuation, even though they take place pretty closely in time.

Nrama: It looks like the interactions between the Runaways and the Avengers Academy crew will be a major point of the arc. Any particularly juicy inter-group dynamics that you're looking forward to exploring?

Gage: Victor and Hank Pym. Karolina and Lightspeed, who have met before, and there was a hint of sparks flying. Hazmat and Nico. It’s all fun.

The best chance to show that a Runaways series can still sell is to increase sales for both of these books during these arcs (and then immediately drop the books after they're gone...)
