Since I'm not skilled with the lj cut, I'll be pretty vague in my review as to not spoil.
Firstly, I have to say I enjoyed this issue. I think it's the best issue of Runaways since the relaunch at #1, and has a lot of hilarious one-liners. The first story (by Christopher Yost and Sara Pichelli) is by far my favourite, mainly because I had always wished the Runaways and New X-Men to make a crossover. Although the second story (by James Asmus and Emma Rios)'s art appeals to me a bit more, I am actually looking forward to Pichelli. Her drawings are fantastic, particularly the last Molly/Wolverine pages ... totally reminds me way back when of Alphona, although while Alphona's lines are more crisp, and hers more wavy, I can't help but feel this new era with her and Immonen will be great. While I'm on the topic of art, I have to say the last Molly/Wolverine pages had brilliant colours - made me feel so warm reading the book. I loved the throwback about the Hayeses being approached by the Hellfire Club - this is available in the preview, so I'm not spoiling anything.
I can't seem to understand. Karolina Dean never met Kitty Pryde ... so how would she know who she is? In the Runaways/X-Men crossover, it was Gert that chatted with Kitty. Karolina was way up in space at the time. Similarily, in Asmus' story, apparently Karolina ACTUALLY kissed Nico. I was sure Nico had pushed her away before it even happened. Again, this is available in the preview.
All in all, my favourite story was (evidently) the "Mollifest Destiny" one ... I love the New X-Men. In order of appearance, Beast, Colossus, Emma Frost, Cyclops, Wolverine, Rockslide, Anole, Surge, Hellion, Match, Pixie, Mercury, Dust, Loa, the Stepford Cuckoos, Storm and Beast's Science Club (the only one I can say at the top of my head is Kavita Rao) all appeared. Most of these appearances were incredibly minor cameos, but I'm still glad to see them on the same page as the Runners. Storm's reaction to Molly had me on my knees with laughter.
