1. I hate the heat and I hate the sun. ...But I have walked long distances in really hot weather wearing long sleeves, soooo while I would be pretty irate throughout the entire walk, I think I could do it.
2. Loved ones, for sure. But food is a plus, lmao. After a long day at school, I always look forward to coming home and eating dinner XD
**Ew, I would feel so gross if I hadn't eaten/drank anything while walking in the heat, and then ate Twinkies....I guess for a starving person, they can't be picky and wouldn't care what they are eating, but that part always grossed me out.
1. Well, considering heat and me don't get along so well, I can honestly tell you that I would not be happy about being in a desert, let alone being stuck there and having to be on foot. I would complain, nonstop, I'm sure. =P I would try my hardest and I think that if something like Jamie and Jared were on the line, I'd do what I could to make it.
2. While food is always a plus to have, it's nothing compared to being with someone I love. The people I care about are what keep me going most of the time. So yeah, the people I love definitely motivate me more.
1) Heat and I DEFINITELY don't get along, so I agree about the complaining, lol. But then it would be worth it if it's because of people I love, for sure.
1) Oh so true. I totally forgot to consider that while my mind could take it, my body might physically not be able to, no matter how much will power! o_O
1. Being in Wanderer's position, would you have been able to make it through even a little of the desert -- on foot? Seeing as my skin is like some sort of a magnet to the sun, and I get burned in no time and I'm not particularly athletic, it would definitely be a major struggle. But I think if I had the same sort of motives for walking through the desert as Wanderer, then I'd probably get farther than I would otherwise.
2. She was largely motivated with the goal of reaching Jamie and Jared. What motivates you more: loved ones or the promise of food/sustenance? Loved ones without a doubt. Of course, food/sustenance would definitely be a helping factor in reaching that goal.
1. Well, a little? Probably so. As much as she did, probably not. Then again, I don't think that Wanderer would have made it nearly as far if it were not for Melanie pushing her. Obviously Mel had the emotional desire to see Jared and Jamie, but I think she also reveled in having more control over Wanderer and being in what has become more of her natural habitat since the invasion. She's been on the run so long that this is what feels natural and normal to her and I think she's missed that after living with the souls for so long.
2. At the beginning it was obviously Jamie and Jared. But when she was almost dying (which I guess is the next chapter but I'm talking about it anyway) I'd like to say loved ones, but anyone who says that has never been dehydrated to the point of death. (Sorry to many of you! My biology major side is coming out.) When your body is in that bad a state, higher emotional functions like love are really overridden by the survival instinct.
