Discussion Question: Wanderer = Jesus?
I found this written by a fan on a message board for The Host:
"...I thought it was kinda interesting how Mrs. Meyer based Wanderer off Jesus. I'm serious! There are so many similarities. The altruism with other people she doesn't really know. Being non-violent, gentle kind to people that barely trusted her,and she knew she would die sooner or later for a bad person's life. Being in a comfort zone and going out of the usual to the unknown. Being taunted and beat up in the hands of the ones she was so desperately trying to save. She told stories and liked mourning and fasting alone."
What is your opinion about this statement?
Also, I'd really like to put up some fan essays on The Host Fan. They could be on the above topic or anything you'd like: character relationships, book themes, etc. Something focused and thought-out. While we're waiting for news this is the time to analyze, write fic, make art, do whatever you want relating to The Host before it becomes a media storm. So consider the essay idea!
