May Foodie PenPal

May 30, 2014 11:06

May was a month of excitement and disappointment where my foodie penpals were concerned. And yes, that is a plural...as in more than one. As expected Rachel has been fantastic! She was super sweet and sent lots of local treats from her home state of Oregon!

Isn't that card she sent cute?! I just had to share! The granola got shared with a co-worker. I brought it in to munch on and work and before I knew it we both finished the bag. Whoops!! The cocoa I am saving for when it isn't 90 degrees. Guess it is still cold up in Oregon, but down here in Tennessee it is summertime! I will post again once I've tried them. The dark chocolate was amazing!! I got a good laugh from the name Dagoba, though. I am a bit of a Star Wars nerd. The chai is SO super yum!! I am totally buying more soon since the canister is nearly empty. I know it is supposed to be served hot, but I make it and pour it over ice. Delish!! The dried cranberries and cherries ended up chopped into small pieces and added into a cookie dough. Wonderful tart and sweet combination with some dark chocolate chips. So fantastic!!
Angie on the other hand, I should have known. She took a while to actually email me and when she finally did it didn't seem like she had read the initial email from Lindsay, head of the FPP program, that explained everything. I answered her questions but being the softie that I am I felt kind of bad for her since this was her first time. Seeing as how she emailed me a day before packages had to go out I rushed to get her package together at the last minute for her and sent out to her. Then nothing for a long time. I emailed her and emailed her. I reminded her once again how the program works and also sent her the tracking information for the package I sent to her. Nothing.

So, I emailed her one last time today to let her know how hurt and disappointed I was in her. I had already been assigned another penpal when she didn't reply in the allotted 72 hours and had no obligations to her whatsoever, but I felt badly for her since this was her first time. I wanted her to have a good experience. Well, she got her good experience, but I sure lost out in the deal here. I also told her I would be forced to report her to Lindsay head of the program. I can only hope she doesn't do this to anyone else.
