A Book A Day 3: Eva Luna | Isabelle Allende

May 08, 2015 14:43

Acquired On: February 10, 2002, Sunday; Paranaque, Manila

Second year of college. Where in Paranaque could I have gotten this book? On the other flyleaf it says: Rocky Dujunco was the first to lend you this book -- inadvertently. That doesn't make sense to me. How can someone lend me a book inadvertently? Does this mean she left it behind somewhere and I took it home and consumed it entirely in one burning day?

This cover, with her finely crafted hands and pillar of a neck and her strange, burning eyes.

What I remember about this book is a nightdress, a boy's mother wobbling naked on high heels, a Germanic town in South America, Rolf with a camera. Strange stories. The word abuela.
