Eurovictory!

Just a few comments this year; most of the acts barely deserve a mention as already I can't even remember them.

Germany: If you took Kraftwerk, locked them in a gay club for a year with all the prozac they could eat, then brought them out into the light of day and put stetsons on them, this is what they'd look like. Decent singer though (she actually seems to get C&W; it helps that she's not german but australian), and a song which was an interesting departure and not half bad either. I expected it to get higher marks than it did.

Lithuania: funniest performance, and the most brazen cheek. But it could have been made so much better by having Rammstein sing it.

Finland: You could tell they'd had to soften and commercialise their sound a bit for Eurovision, but still the most refreshing change of style in Eurovision for many a year.

Good to see that the UK audience watches Eurovision and gets the joke, giving their 10 points to Lithuania and 12 to Finland.

And a well-deserved runaway victory for Finland, allowing us to savour the sight of these mutant warrior rock barbarians receiving bunches of flowers for their win, and wielding them like axes or the dead skulls of their vanquished foes with entirely straight faces. So, do they get to reprise their performance again next year when Finland host it?
