Two days ago the new Airbus A380, the largest passenger aircraft in the world, made its first landing at Manchester Airport. 7,000 people crammed themselves into the viewing park to watch it, but I got a pretty good pic of it taking off over the treetops from Mary's back garden.
Next day I went for a walk along the bridle path around the airport perimeter. Between the Con and visiting Mary I've spent a lot of time lounging on sofas, so a good long walk seemed like a good way of assuaging the guilt. :-) Purely by accident I found myself perfectly positioned to watch the Airbus take off again. Damn, that thing's huge!
Bees were buzzing in and out of flowers, which meant they stayed still long enough to be photographed. I wish I could say the same about the dragonflies.
But I think this last one is my favourite pic of the day. It was taken in the tunnel under the airport runways. I hadn't taken any particular care over it, I just pointed the camera at the mouth of the tunnel and clicked. It wasn't until I looked at the display that I realised how perfectly the tunnel mouth and its reflection framed the vista beyond.
